TEKsystems client in Lansing, Michigan is looking for a seasoned Network Engineer to join their team. This role will be 50/50 project based vs. operational. This person will need to be onsite regularly in either Lansing, MI or Grand Rapids, MI supporting the West region of the client enterprise.
From a technology standpoint, they are heavy Cisco shop across the board and need someone with with familiarity of Meraki + ISE + SDWAN. They are seeking a skilled and adaptable Network Engineer to support and evolve the enterprise network infrastructure. This role is a strategic backfill for a voice-focused engineer, with a broader emphasis on network engineering, operations and infrastructure refresh initiatives. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a Cisco-centric environment and have hands-on experience with Meraki, SD-WAN, and Cisco voice technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across access, wireless, and data center layers.
Assist in the replacement of ACI with Nexus Dashboard, contributing to a full data center fabric refresh.
Operate and optimize Cisco technologies including Meraki, Cisco Wireless, and Cisco Data Center platforms.
Provide operational support for Cisco Call Manager and Cisco Unity Suite in a voice-heavy environment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network reliability, performance, and security.
Participate in the rollout of a refreshed network infrastructure, with a focus on operational excellence and learning the environment.
Be onsite as needed to support infrastructure and team collaboration (most of the team is onsite frequently).
Required Qualifications:
Strong experience in a Cisco environment, including Meraki and SD-WAN.
Familiarity with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and Nexus Dashboard.
Hands-on experience with Cisco Call Manager and Cisco Unity Suite.
Solid understanding of enterprise networking concepts, including wireless, routing, switching, and voice.
Ability to work independently and onsite within 45 minutes of one of our facilities (preferably based near Grand Rapids or Lansing).
