Peraton is seeking a talented Data Center Systems Administrator to become part of our team. The ideal candidate will become part of Peraton's United States Coast Guard (USCG) Infrastructure Managed Services (IMS) program in the Citizen Security & Public Services Sector and Homeland & Diplomacy business unit. The USCG IMS program delivers a phased journey to mature the delivery of the USCG's managed IT services. The program is focused on strengthening IT infrastructure, modernizing enterprise solutions, and improving service delivery to enable successful execution of USCG missions and mission support activities.
Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with diverse stakeholders including clients, vendors, management, and IT personnel throughout system creation and maintenance.
- Installs, configures, and tests servers, blade chassis, blade servers, networking appliances, and associated cabling.
- Manages and monitors all installed systems and infrastructure to ensure compliance with company guidelines or SOPs.
- Provides requested information, feedback, and evaluation to support development design and implementation within the Enterprise Data Center environment.
- Understands, monitors, reports on, and gathers data from critical support infrastructure within the Enterprise Data Center.
- Implements advanced quality control measures to optimize system efficiency and operation.
- Conducts cost-benefit analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Ensures the highest level of system and infrastructure availability.
- Identifies and resolves complex technical issues as they arise.
- Executes warranty and support activities as required.
- Collaborates with other professionals to deliver high-quality outcomes.

QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and 5 years experience or a Master's degree and 3 years experience or a High School Diploma/equivalent and 9 years experience
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and have a current Secret Clearance.
- Must have CompTIA Security+ Certification.
- Experience in creating, installing, configuring, and troubleshooting networking cabling.
- Fundamental understanding of networking principles (OSI layers, TCP/IP).
- Proficiency in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows and/or Linux environments.
- Basic knowledge of Virtual Infrastructure, including familiarity with VMware or VirtualBox.
- Experience with monitoring systems to ensure performance and reliability.

- Proficient in handling physical tasks, including the ability to lift and maneuver objects weighing up to 70lbs with ease and safety.

Job Duties
- Troubleshoot a variety of servers and isolate the problem that the server is encountering.
- Order replacement parts and install them in servers and ship back the defective part to their respective vendors.
- Update firmware on servers to ensure the latest version is installed.
- Configure IP addresses and default login credentials on servers.
- Reach out and assist network admins on any issues they are having with a server that can range from: replacing broken or damaged cables, re-routing cables to different ports on the server or switch, replacing optics on both server and switch ports, changing out parts and installing upgraded versions of those parts in servers.
- Temporarily rack and stack a server or switch in a cabinet and cable it so the network admin can remotely log in and run configurations on device.
- Assist network admins who reach out requesting specific assistance with servers or switch.
- Assist out with Level 1 responsibilities as necessary.
- Must have 2-3+ years of data center technician experience
- Must be open to working M-F 1pm-10pm to start, but eventually moving to 4x10s shifts (i.e. 12pm-11pm OR 1pm-12am)
- Must have troubleshooting and isolating issues on servers, not just part swaps experience
- Rack/Stack and configuration of servers and other DC gear
- Hands on wiring/cabling

Our Hive machine learning systems run on our own data centers with hybrid emphases on high-performance GPU and AWS resources. The scope of your responsibility will include maintaining Hive's existing data centers as well as building out future centers as we commercialize our machine learning models and continue to grow our enterprise SaaS offerings.
As a Data Center Technician at Hive, you'll act as an essential part of our team to install, configure, test, troubleshoot, repair and maintain the hardware and server software that allows all of our powerful AI solutions to run. You'll help support the delivery of cutting edge technologies and act as the foundational engineer for our engineering teams by keeping infrastructure centers up and in optimal working. While this job will require manual movement and lifting of heavy equipment, you will be uniquely able to work closely with infrastructure that is at the cutting-edge of the growing AI industry. Requirements:

Job Description
The Data Center Technician (DCT) plays a key role in Computacenter's Integration Center, guiding the flow of physical technology products through the warehouse and the integration center, where products are crafted, racked, stacked, configured, and tested to meet specific customer needs. DCTs work with little or minimal direction, handling products and updating associated information systems, programming and configuration of automation programs as required by customers. Data Center Technicians will travel to customer sites for rack installations and work closely with the field teams for service and repairs.
Salary range: $25/HR USD
What you'll be doing
- Racking: read Rack Elevation; rack and stack servers, network hardware, and accessories.
- Cable Matrix: read and interpret cable matrix to correctly lace cables port to port.
- Labeling: operate cable labeling machine and apply label onto cables per customer standards.
- Asset Tracking: keep track of all assets assigned to DCT until completion of rack build.
- Hardware Upgrade: install components to server and networking devices such as, memory, CPU, expansion cards, and modules.
- Benching: place specified items on a designated, numbered bench for configuration and testing; includes un-boxing, labeling, powering-up, and recording serial numbers.
- Un-benching: re-package (match product serial numbers) and retrieve the designated items from the designated bench in the Integration Center, record the change in location and status of the items in the inventory system, and place them in a designated staging area in the warehouse to prepare for shipping.
- Boxing: craft the designated items for a given project into larger boxes or pallets, stretch-wrapping them, and verifying that all of the designated items are included in the set.
- Asset Management and Data Collection: capture critical device information such as asset tag, serial numbers, mac addresses, and other information deemed significant for client and company use.
- Make recommendations to improve customer designs to power and equipment load when necessary.
- Installation: install rack at various customer sites
- Repairs and Service: provide support to the field team with service and repairs for installed racks at various customer sites.
- Understand and abide by all security and operational policies.
