**Position Summary:**
The Packer/Boxer is responsible for cutting, assembling, packing, and labeling products according to order specifications. This role supports manufacturing operations by preparing materials for shipment and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
**Primary Duties & Responsibilities:**
The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Read and interpret blueprints, shipping notices, and work orders to determine required container size, materials, and needed supports/braces.
+ Cut and punch strips to specification using manual or power tools.
+ Measure and lay out dimensions on materials using rulers, measuring tapes, and pencils.
+ Saw materials to the required size.
+ Assemble components and place products into containers. Roll and box strips and parts to create door kits.
+ Wrap and pad products using paper or other protective materials.
+ Label or stencil containers with key information such as destination, product type, and weight.
+ Count and inspect items to ensure order accuracy. Weigh and move completed crates to the shipping area.
+ Transport materials such as lumber, paper, and packing supplies to workstations.
+ Accurately complete and enter daily production reports.
**Skills:**
+ Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly.
+ Strong basic math skills required, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions, and percentages.
+ Must be comfortable interacting with other departments such as Sales and Shipping.
+ Experience with tools such as a winder, crane, staple gun, or cut & punch die is a plus.
**Physical Demands:**
+ Ability to lift between **5 and 50 lbs** regularly.
+ Must be able to **stand for extended periods** throughout the shift.

+ Must be team-oriented, dependable, and work well with others to achieve production goals.

A Material Handling Associate is required to be cross-trained on multiple job tasks within the warehouse. This includes loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials, driving forklift, and recording accurate data in a data base or spreadsheet. The successful candidate must be able to work successfully and flex to different areas, read and follow work instructions, meet all quality standards, have an excellent safety record, and meet all attendance requirements. This is a safety sensitive position.
**Requirements and Responsibilities:**
· Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
· Prefer two years or more of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or service environment.
· Must be presently assigned at Trane Waco's Warehouse at Apron through Spherion for a minimum of 90 days service.
· Prior work history including attendance, safety, and work rule violations will be considered.

· Must be willing and available to work in all areas when needed, including the McGregor plant if needed.
· Warehouse positions will require active Forklift certification.
