All candidates preferably have a Ph.D. degree in biotechnology, biochemistry, cell or molecular biology, bioengineering, or related field, and technical experience in biotechnology, molecular biology and/or biochemistry. Attorneys should have a JD from a top tier law-firm, and be admitted to one or more state bars, and should be admitted to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office. Candidates should have 2 to 4 years of experience in a law firm or in-house drafting patent applications and assisting with drafting of opinions, as well as performing freedom-to-operate patent searches and literature searches.
The position will work with partners and senior associates of the firm, specifically with regard to domestic and foreign patent preparation and prosecution, freedom-to-operate and patentability analyses, researching and drafting legal opinions for clients, and assisting with patent office litigation matters.
The Firm offers a 1500 billable hour/year requirement.
This is a full time in-office position, with the opportunity for hybrid work (2 days/week remote) after six months to qualifying employees.
