The Utility Representative will be responsible for providing “sales” and “services” of parts cleaner equipment, environmental waste services, and product sales to automotive and industrial businesses. This position will work frequently with 16-55 gallon drums of hazardous/non-hazardous material and will use drum dollies to move product to/from Class B box truck to worksite. Additionally, the Utility Rep may be required to perform any responsibility of the TSSR and AFSR positions.

Note: Attendance is required at the branch for the duration of the standard work week. Weekly schedules are at the discretion of the Regional Manager.

Specific Duties:

Responsible for working safely in all job aspects and functions
Promotes and fosters safety and efficiency in all employees and activity
Responsible for customer service and new business development in a certain geographic area as assigned by the Company
Services existing customers by exchanging solvent and/or replacing drums, parts washers and other equipment
Aligns work orders to minimize mileage and travel time
Inspects vehicle and equipment for safe operation
Assess potential customer needs, present CC products and services, and develop new customers
Develops sales leads for Data-Marketing
Complete all required paperwork accurately and neatly
Maintain driving log for D.O.T.
Adhere to all corporate policies and standards including but not limited to environmental and regulatory, human resources, facility, equipment, operations and maintenance
Performs other related duties as assigned


Position Qualification Requirements:

Work Experience:

Valid driver’s license required
Clean motor vehicle record (MVR) of major violations (Examples: DUI, Cell phone, No Seatbelt)

Personal Protective Equipment*:

Ability to wear personal protective equipment including a respirator
Steel toe boots, gloves, uniform, safety glasses, reflective vest and hard hats

Physical Requirements*:

Frequent lifting of materials that typically weigh 54-80lbs
Frequent pushing/pulling of 16-55 gallon drums of waste/product (typically 140-460lbs
Frequent climbing ladders, vehicles, and storage tanks to access used oil/wastes
Occasionally pulling/dragging hoses out of truck (10-55lbs each)
All applicants must pass the company paid physical exam including substance abuse screening

Work Environment*:

While performing essential duties of this position an individual regularly works in a variety of environments, and is required to see, talk, hear, reach with hands, stand, walk, drive frequently, use a computer keyboard, mouse, mobile phone, and other office equipment. Essential duties require bending, squatting and twisting frequently. Employee will frequently be exposed to dirt, dust and fumes. Noise level of the environment is generally moderate, but may vary depending on customer site visits. Compensation

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships with decision makers for selecting concrete suppliers
  • Understand established models for pricing and quoting
  • Develop and maintain a list of target and development customers and build strong relationships with them to meet new sales goals
  • Meet or exceed new and retention sales volume goals
  • Gain and maintain a reputation for sound business acumen with business owners and decision makers
  • Track current trends in the national and local economy and understand the impact on the local ready-mix market
  • Compile detailed competitive and industry information
  • Assist customers and Quality Control to provide required mix design submittals
  • Proactively maintain open communication regarding customer requirements and expectations to appropriate plant, dispatch, quality and management personnel
  • Assist in the implementation of company marketing plans as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within their assigned area
  • Provide timely reports, i.e., monthly activity reports and expense reports, etc.
  • Assist Credit Department with collections
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team
  • Attend industry-related events and participate in trade associations, Chambers of Commerce, and local economic development groups
  • Share expertise and experience with other sales team members

Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years sales experience, preferably in the construction materials industry
  • Ability to spontaneously discuss industry, market and product knowledge in a variety of audiences
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to influence and drive decision-making as appropriate
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Team-player both internally and externally
  • Mid-level skill level with Microsoft Office Software, i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Clean driving record (for last five years)

Preferred:

  • Experience with Public Entities (state, county, city governments, etc.)
  • Background in construction and/or manufacturing of construction products

As a Financial Representative Trainee, you’ll embark on a comprehensive program that equips you with the skills and competencies necessary to excel in selling Individual Insurance products and building a sustainable, holistic financial practice. WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Hourly Wage: $16/hour during the trainee period, which lasts up to 30 days. 
  • Upon completion of the trainee period, promotion to a Financial Representative with a $6,000 annual base plus unlimited monthly sales incentive. 
  • $ 000 bonus after successful completion of trainee period and promotion to a Financial Representative.
  • An education-based Accelerator Program designed to successfully transition you to an independent Financial Advisor.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • You’ll participate in a comprehensive program to develop the skills required to provide holistic financial advice to clients. You will actively contribute to classroom discussion, participate in goal setting sessions and progress evaluation meetings.
  • You’ll gain valuable direct sales experience in marketing Individual Insurance products to clients and pass a sales process competency test.
  • You’ll cultivate and sustain prospecting skills such as research, targeting, networking, communication and more through use of personal networks, community events, and social media.
  • You’ll acquire an in-depth understanding of our product offerings, demonstrating expertise in their features and benefits.
  • You’ll oversee completion of content, proposals and paperwork flow throughout the field and Home Office, ensuring a seamless application and underwriting process.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Successfully meet all trainee program requirements, gaining the skills and knowledge needed to excel. 
  • Obtain the required insurance licenses prior to starting the job, with up to two attempts allowed for the Life and Health exam. 
  • Pass the CRD/FINRA background check at hire and ongoing, with securities licensing required within 24 months of entry into the program. 
  • Be highly self-motivated and results-oriented, working both independently and as part of a team.
