Position Summary:
Custom Corp, a GSP Company, is seeking knowledgeable and competent individuals to work in our production sewing department. Primarily responsible for independently setting up and operating sewing machines in a fast paced environment. This position will be required to maintain production by planning and organizing jobs and continuously monitoring quality. Additionally, sewing operators are responsible for cleanliness and keeping their machines maintained mechanically.
Responsibilities:
- Completes detailed instructions from job orders accurately and precisely
- Sets up and adjusts machines for job runs to meet specifications
- Monitors machines during job runs, checks precision or detail against specifications and takes action to correct any problems
- Monitors machine, remains alert to mechanical problems and corrects or refers for maintenance if necessary
- Initiates the startup and running of jobs in keeping with production schedule
- Adheres to safety guidelines and keeps work space clean and organized
- Willingness to adapt to evolving job responsibilities and expand scope of experience as the company grows.
- Ability to use a single needle automatic or double needle machine (Juki & Brother)
- Ability to use 3 string serge
Job Requirements:
- At least 3+ years' experience in sewing industry
- 6 months of industrial sewing experience
- Ability to understand and interpret job ticket instructions
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs.
- Ability to use hands and arms in a repetitive motion for the duration of the shift, including repeated bending, stretching, twisting and sitting for long periods of time.

The Role and Your Impact:
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to add to our team as a full-time Sewing Specialist to fulfill custom monogram orders. We are looking for someone with the knowledge, expertise and initiative to help us build out our current monogram capacity. This position would require overtime and possible weekends through peak.
We will provide initial training on our machines and we expect you to be highly proficient at Sewing already, a self-starter and have the ability to keep multiple balls in the air at once.
Our customer's satisfaction is of utmost importance, so being detail oriented and checking for quality assurance will also be key in this role.

Machine Operation
- Operate commercial Sewing machines, in an efficient manner
- Set up Sewing machines and select the thread and fabric that will be used for each job to operate.
Quality control and project management
- Exceptional quality control of product before and after production
- Able to achieve reasonable production output based on daily mix of production (of different pocket removal and replacement)
- Balance multiple projects without sacrificing efficiency
What experience you need:
- At least 1 full year's experience as an experienced Sewing machine operator
- Must have previous experience working in high-capacity Sewing roles
What will make you successful:
- Effective written and verbal communication and the ability to communicate regularly and professionally with our corporate and customer service teams
- Ability to work with multiple types of fabrics and patterns
- Must be detailed oriented and meticulous
- Must be dependable and have reliable transportation

Compensation
- $20 per hour

Position SummaryThe Sewing Machine Operator will operate a sewing machine (Juki-Overlock, Juki-Single Needle, Merrow, Sonobond) and other equipment to join materials into finished product form in preparation for folding or final packaging. Duties are described below.
During the facility tour, candidates will participate in a sewing assessment to evaluate their proficiency in sewing Tyvek material and their comfort working on a sewing machine in a cleanroom environment for eight to ten hours.
What You'll do as a Sewing Machine Operator- Receive materials and sewing instructions from Cleanroom Supervisor or Associate Value Stream Manager.
- Verify integrity and quality of materials.
- Operate overlock stitch, single needle, elastic and other sewing equipment to sew materials into components and finished products.
- Package completed products into bags or pouches for further processing.
- Perform operations in a manner that maintains superior cleanliness of product/work area.
- Follow SOPs to maintain integrity of cleanroom environment.
- Join applicable union and abide by all union work rules.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Effective communication and instructional comprehension.
