- Bilingual preferred in certain locations.

AECOM  is actively seeking an entry level Environmental Engineer  for employment within our Environmental Remediation Practices group in our San Diego, Orange or Westlake Village, California  office to support soil and groundwater investigations and remediation projects. The ideal candidate will be willing and able to learn new skills and methods on challenging field and office assignments in a collaborative team environment.
This position is expected to begin in Spring 2026.
 
Tasks will include:
- Conducting environmental field work, including collecting soil, groundwater, and remediation system data, groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging and oversight of subcontractors.
- Produce accurate and complete documentation of operation, inspections and compliance.
- Field document preparation, field data collection, processing and interpretation.
- Supporting office tasks, including data analysis and report preparation.
- Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
- Travel to project locations including driving and overnight stays.
The event kicks off on Wednesday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm , where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.
On Thursday, interviews will take place at either our Los Angeles or Orange office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental/Civil/Geological/Chemical Engineering.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
- As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review and a substance abuse test.
- HAZWOPER 40 Hr. Training.
- Prior experience in environmental field data collection including drilling, soil logging, well installation and soil, groundwater, vapor sample collection, and/or remediation system operations, maintenance, and monitoring.
- Master’s Degree is a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Coursework or experience providing knowledge relevant to waste management, environmental site assessments, environmental site investigation and characterization, and environmental remediation is preferred.
- Knowledge of environmental sampling practices.
- Relocation assistance and/or per diem is not available for this position.
- Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
- Candidate will submit to medical surveillance screening upon hire.
