Geisinger ConvenientCare (urgent care) clinicians diagnose and treat common medical problems including sore throats, earaches, sinus infections, flu, urinary tract infections and more. Routine health exams, immunizations, screenings and wellness services are also provided.

ConvenientCare has much to offer, allowing you to live well in both your professional and personal life:

Experience is required -Due to the autonomous nature of the position, advanced practitionersmust be able to treat patients from age one and older and havea minimum of six monthsadvanced practitioner experience in primary care, emergency medicine, urgent care, or critical care.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Advanced Practitioner must be able to see all age ranges from Pediatric (birth) to Geriatric.

The successful Physician Assistant candidate will work under the responsibility and supervision of the physician and require completion of an ARC-PA (or predecessororganization) approved physician assistant program, currentNCCPA certification or eligibility and Pennsylvania State licensure.

The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will work in collaboration with the physician and have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners or be eligible to hold national certification that allows the NP to work with the patient populations and location settings associated with this position. Must be eligible for licensure as a nurse practitioner in the state of PA.

Geisinger Heart Institute spans a 45-county service area and has over 100 physicians and more than 75 advanced practitioners. This team provides care in 5 acute care tertiary/ quaternary hospitals, 4 community hospitals, and numerous outreach locations, and together performs over 10,000 cardiac procedures annually.

Geisinger Heart Institute features multiple accredited chest pain centers, a nationally recognized regional STEMI PCI network, complex arrhythmia ablation, a full range of coronary, vascular and structural heart interventions and an advanced heart failure program.

The ideal candidate will:

• Collaborate with the physicians to assess, diagnose, and treat adult cardiac patients referred to the cardiology service

• Demonstrates autonomy through patient evaluations, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care

• Manages and assistsin the smooth, efficient operations of the inpatient cardiology patient, outpatient cardiology clinic, cardiac labs and outreach cardiology clinics

• Orders testing as deemed necessary and remains proficient in interpreting results and prescribing appropriate medication regimen within the scope of practice of the nurse practitioner

The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will work in collaboration with the physician and have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners or be eligible to hold national certification that allows the NP to work with the patient populations and location settings associated with this position. This positionis as a Geisinger provider in a contracted skilled nursing facility and r equires an experienced advanced practitioner, prior experience working in a skilled nursing facility, family medicine, internal medicine or ICU.The advanced practitioner (AP) provides direct (hands-on) care in skilled nursing facilities with a goal to improve quality and prevent unnecessary re-admissions to the acute care setting.
