**About the role:**
This position will directly report to the Controller and will have 1-2 direct reports. This role acts as a bridge between the Finance controller, CFO and other finance department staff and offshore finance operations team, supporting the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements for management review, ensuring the integrity of accounting processes and financial controls and managing audits. The Assistant Finance Controller is required to demonstrate robust accounting, financial, and analytical skills, as well as a strong focus on risk management and internal controls. They must be an ambitious leader who can work collaboratively and independently with the highest levels of integrity.
**Functions and duties of this role include, but not limited to:**
+ **Month-End and Year-End Close:** Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes. Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to ensure timely and accurate closings.
+ **Financial Reporting** : Assist in the preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Review and analyze financial data and present findings to Controller and CFO.
+ **Accounting Guidance** : Advise business teams and management to support decision-making and ensure IFRS compliance.
+ **Manage Offshore Accounting Operations** : Supervise third-party finance service providers, ensuring they meet contract terms, SLAs, and KPIs. Proactively identify, investigate, and resolve any service delivery concerns or escalations, coordinating corrective actions to restore and enhance service levels.
+ **Compliance and Audit** : Coordinate with external and internal auditors during audits and ensure compliance with company policies and control framework. Address audit findings and implement recommendations.
+ **Stakeholder Engagement** : Act as a finance business partner to cross-functional teams particularly sales, marketing, supply chain, and operations helping them understand financial impacts of business decisions.
+ **Process Improvement** : Identify opportunities for streamlining accounting processes and workflows. Lead or participate in finance-related projects to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
+ **Team Leadership** : Support, mentor, and provide guidance to junior finance staff. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the finance team.

**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA, CMA or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred
+ 8-10 years of accounting experience in CPG environment or public accounting experience, including 4+ years of supervisory.
+ Demonstrated understanding of full cycle accounting and its impact on financial statements.
+ Experience overseeing audit processes
+ Thorough understanding and ability to apply US GAAP / IFRS and tax regulations for CPG accounting.
+ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and experience with major ERP/accounting software (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
+ Strong communication, interpersonal, team building and organizational skills.
+ Ability to work collaboratively with people at all levels of the organization and make actionable recommendations.
+ Flexibility to work under time constraints and deadlines.
+ High aptitude & proven ability to drive assigned responsibilities to their successful conclusion with minimal supervision.
+ Ability to manage and protect confidential data, information, and planning.

The compensation band for this position is $123,000 - $184,600 annually. The exact salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, internal company equity, and budget. The listed range is applicable only to the annual base salary and does not include additional perks, benefits, or applicable bonus eligibility comprising the total compensation package.

Description We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Controller to join our team in Stamford, Connecticut. This position plays a key role in managing accounting operations, ensuring compliance, and supporting financial decision-making processes. The ideal candidate is an experienced finance expert with strong analytical skills and a commitment to excellence in financial management. Responsibilities: - Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations. - Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in alignment with organizational standards. - Assist in developing and implementing internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. - Collaborate with the Controller to create and analyze annual budgets and forecasts, providing actionable insights based on financial performance. - Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits, ensuring timely delivery of required documentation and responses. - Utilize accounting software and systems to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency. - Guide and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment. - Conduct ad hoc financial analyses to support business initiatives, including cost-saving measures and investment opportunities. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred. - Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role. - Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or NetSuite, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills. - Strong knowledge of accounting principles and familiarity with financial reporting standards. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on interpreting complex financial data. - Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments. - Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities within tight deadlines. Description We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our team in Marin County, California. This role plays a key part in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and supporting organizational goals through accurate reporting and analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, payroll processing, and financial systems, as well as a proven ability to handle multi-state payroll and collaborate across departments. Responsibilities: - Prepare and analyze special financial reports, including cash flow, vendor activity, receivables, and bank fees, as requested by the Controller. - Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance. - Assist in the preparation of financial statements and support the Controller in annual budget planning. - Collaborate with the IT team to maintain and enhance accounting systems for optimal functionality. - Supervise and train accounting personnel responsible for detailed entries and internal financial reporting both locally and at branch offices. - Support the annual review process conducted by external auditors and provide necessary documentation. - Oversee multi-state payroll processing, including calculating wages, bonuses, overtime, and deductions, while ensuring compliance with tax withholding requirements. - Manage vacation and sick leave accruals and prepare payroll billings for branch offices. - Generate and review payroll reports using ADP Workforce Now and related systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. - Address employee inquiries related to payroll and prepare semi-monthly reports for employee contribution submissions Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management. - Proficiency in month-end close processes, general ledger management, and financial statement preparation. - Experience with full-cycle payroll, including multi-state payroll processing and compliance. - Strong knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and Oracle NetSuite systems. - Demonstrated ability to conduct financial reporting and support audits. - Solid understanding of payroll tax regulations, including federal, state, and local requirements. - Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail. - Ability to effectively train and supervise accounting staff.
