Job Description

Job Summary
Assists in surgical and dental procedures. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range on their assigned clinical area.
Job Duties
+ Greets and prepares patient for appropriate procedure.
+ Completes new medical questionnaire annually.
+ Updates and reviews medical health history and completes all electronic medical record screenings at every dental visit.
+ Exposes and processes radiographs.
+ Cleans and sterilizes instruments and disinfects dental equipment and operatory.
+ Maintains responsibility for general operatory and clinic maintenance, as well as monitors expiration dates on supplies.
+ Maintains dental unit and hand pieces.
+ Prepares tray setups.
+ Assists with Oral Surgery and Dental procedures in the clinic and Operating Room setting.
+ Ensures the availability of monitoring equipment in preparation for outpatient conscious sedations.
+ Ensures all necessary elements are available in preparation for conscious sedation procedures.
+ Assists during emergency situations.
+ Prepares for the use of the rubber dam when appropriate.
+ Takes preliminary impressions and counter casts for diagnostic casts.
+ Removes sutures and places dressings.
+ Schedules patients for multiple appointments and surgical procedures.
+ Provides oral health home care and post op instructions when appropriate.
Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures. Position Details
Hiring Incentive: This position qualifies for a $2,500 sign-on bonus paid over two years. Certain stipulations do apply.

Mahwah Dental Lab is a dental lab for finalizing individualized CAD/CAM dental prosthetics. The Dental Lab Technician I is responsible for performing finishing processes (such as Stain and Glaze) on semi-finished products. This involves the process of transforming a semi-finished product to look like a natural tooth by matching color, hue, texture, luster, and appearance of translucency to customer needs. The individual must be customer focused, efficient, have a level of artistic ability, a general understanding of dental anatomy, and a keen sense of color.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Finalize dental prosthetics per customer specifications by adhering to detailed work instructions.
+ Apply stain and glaze to products, with small tools such as a paint brush, ensuring accurate color, hue, texture, and chroma match.
+ Frequently handle and manipulate small components using a pinch or squeeze grip with the non-dominant hand across multiple production tasks.
+ Operate small handheld power, impact, and vibratory tools with the dominant hand for brief durations, intermittently throughout the shift, to support product finishing and detailing.
+ Perform technical tasks using footpedal-operated handheld tools, assisting with material preparation and processing
+ Perform routine maintenance activities on equipment following established procedures.
+ Operate secondary equipment as required, including furnace, ultrasonic cleaner, sandblaster, etc.
+ Collaborate proactively with cross-functional departments to meet production goals.
+ Participate in team-driven manufacturing process improvements using Kaizen methodologies.
+ Conduct final inspections, packaging, and/or labeling of finished products as needed.

What Skills and Experience Does a Successful UDA Hygienist Have?

  • Current state license to practice dental hygiene
  • The confidence and ability to educate patients on their unique oral health needs and desires
  • Strong communication skills
  • A desire to embrace preventative centered care
  • The ability to perform all hygiene clinical procedures, including (but not limited to) adult and child prophylaxis, non-surgical periodontal therapy, sealants, and fluoride

Hygienists are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control trainings as required by law.

Physical Requirements:

What Does a Hygienist at UDA Look Like?
Are you looking to join a team that goes above and beyond to take care of their patients? If so, then you are what we are looking for! We want you to come on board and help us shape Oral Health Care delivery into something that exceeds expectations each and every day.

In your role, you will help support the success of the office and our patients oral health by performing licensed hygiene procedures, consistently educating our patients on treatment and care, and building strong lasting relationships with those patients. To do this, you will also want to ensure that patient records are maintained accurately and thoroughly and that you partner with the administrative team on scheduling appointments.

We have an immediate full-time opening!

What Skills and Experience Does a Successful UDA Hygienist Have?

  • Current state license to practice dental hygiene
  • The confidence and ability to educate patients on their unique oral health needs and desires
  • Strong communication skills
  • A desire to embrace preventative centered care
  • The ability to perform all hygiene clinical procedures, including (but not limited to) adult and child prophylaxis, non-surgical periodontal therapy, sealants, and fluoride

Hygienists are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control trainings as required by law.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of the position.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
