Candidate will provide project planning and status communications with Air Force and LM U-2 Program Leadership, coordinate with other U-2 Engineering, Supply Chain, Global Sustainment, and Business Management personnel. Responsibility will also include overseeing the definition and preparation of Avionics specific proposals and managing/reporting on related budget and schedules in work.
Functional responsibility for software engineering team.
Travel up to 20% required.
**Basic Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
- Avionics communication, navigation, auto pilot, air data, processing, and displays subsystems technical knowledge
- Technical/Development/Integration Experience
- Experience defining/tracking tasks, schedule, and budget
- Avionics architecture experience with Mil-Std-1553 and Ethernet interfaces
- Experience working with multiple Integrated Product Teams within a program
- Program/Project Management experience
- Agile team management experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have a current Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a **Software Engineering Manager 2** to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in **El Segundo, California or Palmdale, California.**
You will be the product owner of a product team collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams, such as, Systems Engineering, Real-time & Embedded Software, Test Automation, DevOps, and Systems Test, in an Agile software development environment. You will oversee and review system capabilities that resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls.
**Essential Functions:**
The successful candidate has experience with development, modification and maintain customized or standardized embedded Mission Systems applications using software engineering best practices and standards. Experience in the full life-cycle of software development, to include requirements development, modeling and design, application development, unit to CSCI testing, integration, formal system testing, release, installation, and maintenance. + Provides expert guidance to program(s) to solve technical and/or process issues throughout the software development lifecycle.

**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Must have a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field AND 9 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in software development, OR a Master's degree AND 7 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in software development.
+ Experience leading software teams with at least 10 software engineers

This Enterprise Level position will report to the Enterprise System Architect in the Chief Engineer's office. The selected candidate will act as the primary point of contact for the Chief Engineer and System Architect, leading efforts to resolve critical engineering challenges. The candidate must excel in teamwork, foster collaboration, and demonstrate exceptional communication skills, as they will be interacting with enterprise leadership, customer representatives, and junior engineering teams. Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
+ Review and provide input on material presented at enterprise change boards to ensure material presented is correct and meets Vehicle Engineering requirements
