Requirements

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related field.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Experience:
  • Three (3) years of relevant work experience in Data Analysis and Visualization, with a strong portfolio showcasing compelling data visualizations and dashboard designs.
  • Two (2) or more years of advanced, hands-on experience using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Cloud, including dashboard development, data source publishing, and performance optimization
Preferred Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Programming, Graphic Design with a focus on Data Visualization, or a related field; or
  • Equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.
Professional Licenses/Certifications:
  • Tableau Desktop Specialist or Certified Associate certification highly desired;
  • Tableau Cloud Certified Associate certification is a plus;
  • Certified Analytics Professional or similar desired; and
  • Project management certification desired.
Knowledge/Skills:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and demonstrated expertise in data preparation techniques (e.g. Power Query, Tableau Prep) to transform raw data into a usable format for visualization.

  • A strong understanding of creating SQL queries
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of quantitative analysis and problem solving experience.

  • Create, configure, and maintain PowerBI dashboards used to display physical security information collected and maintained by others. Partner with others to define the scope of work and design for more complex PowerBI dashboards, when necessary.
  • Create, configure, and maintain MS Office forms, email templates, and other media for collecting, organizing, and communicating information with internal and external audiences.
  • Ensure that data connections for the above tools are maintained in partnership with data repository owners. Regularly validate data connections and communicate problems promptly.
  • Create, configure, and maintain PowerApps, Project, and Azure DevOps tools to assist with automating the collection, organization, and communication of project information.
  • Create, configure, and maintain SharePoint sites and modules such as lists, forms, and communication sites to organize, store, and communicate information. Partner with others to define the scope of work and design for more complex SharePoint sites, when necessary.

You will collaborate with other analysts and reporters on the team to help our clients navigate the complex policy and legislative landscape in Washington.

What you will do:
  • Analyze and interpret legislative, economic, and statistical data.
  • Present information accurately and concisely in charts, tables, maps, and other appropriate graphical formats with a clean and modern design aesthetic.
  • Produce content for BGOV OnPoint slides, bill summaries, news stories, and other products.

You need to have:

We are hiring for positions on an upcoming effort at Adelphi, MD in support of the U.S. Army Defensive Cyber Solutions Branch of the Army Command, Control, Communication, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR). This position will collaborate with cybersecurity experts and data scientists to understand data sources, uncover threats, and optimize security strategies. This position is located at Adelphi, MD.

What will you be doing?

This position will be a key member of the Defensive Cyber Security team. Duties include:

  • Transforms complex cybersecurity datasets into clear, actional visual insights that drive decision making

  • Analyzes diverse security metrics, identifies trends, and creates compelling visual dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or others

  • Collaborates with cybersecurity experts and data scientists to understand data sources, uncover threats, and optimize security strategies.

What skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?

This position will require the following skillsets and experience:

  • Must have bachelor’s degree (Related field preferred)

  • Requires a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience

  • Requires a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Clearance

  • Must have experience using reporting tools, including Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms

  • An ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analytics, proficiency in data visualization best practices, and a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles.

  • Must be US Citizen and able to obtain a security clearance
