Job Description
We are looking for an analytical and innovative individual who is inherently passionate about lighting design. The Lighting Designer will bring a balance of creative vision and technical expertise to carry out Tucci Lighting’s design vision. You will work closely with architects, interior designers, engineers, and consultants to deliver integrated, sustainable, and innovative lighting designs. The successful candidate has a strong familiarity with drawing production, specification writing, detailing, calculations, presentations and renderings. Ability to demonstrate an innovative thought process and illustrate lighting design concepts is essential.
Responsibilities
Create designs and documentation from concept through construction administration under the direction of the Senior Designer(s) / Project Managers
- Produce AutoCAD and/or Revit drawings for a variety of projects and sizes
- Custom detail development through procurement of samples and in-person mockups
- Perform lighting calculations in AGi32
- Documentation of deliverable sets (drawings, specifications, cutsheets, etc)
- Lighting control design (Lutron Homeworks or equivalent)
- Prepare Client presentations and renderings
- Take ownership of the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the work assignments
Manage day-to-day project functions; no task is above or below you
- Accurately track project and non-billable time in Harvest software
- Attend design meetings, site visits, and focusing appointments at project completion, often after hours
- Update and maintain the sample library
- Maintain an hourly billable percentage of 85% or higher weekly
Promote clear, efficient communication among team, clients, and partners
- Maintain professional client communication
- Interface with local sales representatives for current lighting equipment
- Monitor Asana, track upcoming deadlines for respective projects
- Communicate workload and personal bandwidth clearly to project managers
Qualifications
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BlueBeam, Adobe CS Suite, Microsoft Office, Pages, and working knowledge of AGi32 (required)
- Degree in Architectural Lighting Design, Architecture or Interior Design; or equivalent combination of education or experience
- 3-5 years of experience in the field of lighting design or equivalent
- Detail-oriented, team-first attitude
- Motivated to work both collaboratively and alone
- Ability to explain complex ideas in simple, practical terms
Pay Range and Hours
- Salary $80-95k commensurate with experience
- This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week plus
- This is a hybrid position - part-time in office, part-time remote
- Availability when working remotely must be M-F 9 am-6 pm PDT

**General Summary**
The Lighting Designer, with some supervision from the Director of Electrical Engineering or senior staff, provides design, analysis and engineering for lighting, lighting control systems and circuiting for new construction and/or renovation of industrial and commercial structures in conformance to client requirements and applicable codes. The Lighting Designer will also provide the design and engineering to develop the construction documents for the installation, interconnection and control of lighting fixtures.
**Essential Job Functions:**

Job Description
**General Summary**
The Lighting Designer, with some supervision from the Director of Electrical Engineering or senior staff, provides design, analysis and engineering for lighting, lighting control systems and circuiting for new construction and/or renovation of industrial and commercial structures in conformance to client requirements and applicable codes. The Lighting Designer will also provide the design and engineering to develop the construction documents for the installation, interconnection and control of lighting fixtures.
**Essential Job Functions:**
+ Possess / demonstrate the engineering knowledge and understanding to design, analyze, and engineer electrical systems for the installation, interconnection, and control of lighting systems, sizing of equipment, etc.
+ Review and/or establish project scope, electrical budget, design approach, and applicable constraints with the Project Manager or client as appropriate.
+ Adhere to project quality, budget, and schedule.
+ Prepare feasibility studies and schematic design packages of lighting, lighting control systems, etc.
+ Possess / demonstrate the graphic ability to produce construction documents per company standards whether presenting mark-ups to CAD drafter or performing CAD drafting.
+ Communication and work with all other disciplines to produce coordinated construction documents.
+ With assistance, edit and draft project specifications.
+ Conduct field measuring and checking at the project site.
+ Maintain organized project file containing project calculations, correspondence, appropriate reference materials, etc.
+ Review project submittals (shop drawings) for conformance with contract documents; specify action required for conformance.
+ Perform related duties as assigned.
**Employment Qualifications:**
**Education:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
**Experience**
+ 3-6+ years related experience in the lighting design engineering field
**Certification:**
+ Lighting Certification (L.C). preferred
**Skills/Competencies:**
+ Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD
+ Proficiency in AGI32 and ElumTools Lighting Design Software
+ Knowledge and application skills for design of facility lighting systems including lighting and power branch distribution
+ Bluebeam
+ BIM 360 and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
+ Excellent written and verbal communication
+ Strong attention to detail
