Duties And Responsibilities
- Work with loan applicant(s) to gather specific information relative to credit, employment, and financial history to obtain a loan approval
- Gathers, analyzes, and processes necessary documentation from applicant(s), credit bureaus, employers, and various creditors to verify financial information and credit standings
- Reviews and assemble accurate loan information in a timely manner to obtain applicable loan approvals
- Communicates with applicant(s), underwriters and/or creditors to resolve problems or questions regarding application information
- Assists with special projects as requested and perform additional duties as required.
High school graduate with at least one year of relevant course study including seminars and workshops combined with at least two to three years of related experience and/or training; general knowledge of loan processing and underwriting fundamentals.
Skills And Abilities
Customer-service oriented with good verbal and written communication skills for interaction with a variety of people inside and outside of the organization. Ability to elicit, interpret, analyze, and evaluate given information relative to underwriting guidelines and lender requirements. Excellent organization skills and detail-oriented aptitude. General administrative abilities to include typing, filing and use of computer, calculator, copier, and facsimile machines.
Work Conditions
Some weekend work may be required.

The Mortgage Loan Processor processes, closes and funds mortgage loan applications.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Performs the entire end to end mortgage loan process. Duties to include but not limited to:
- Process a large volume of both inbound and outbound real estate loan related phone calls, text messages, emails, and chats from both internal and external members daily.
- Communicates effectively with borrowers and mortgage loan originators regarding any missing or delayed documentation required for loan approval or clear to close.
- Verify, compile, and input/update application information into the appropriate mortgage software.
- Review real estate loan files to verify that all data and documents are complete, accurate, and meet all established standards.
- Prepare disclosures within the required time frames to meet regulatory standards.
- Gather and process all loan documentation required and ensure compliance with policy, regulatory, and loan terms.
- Place orders with outside vendors for title work, appraisals, flood certification, insurance, and any other related items required for the loan to meet underwriting conditions.
- Perform necessary follow up on any items required for the loan in a timely manner to ensure target closing dates are achieved.
- Submit conditions to underwriting to obtain clear to close.
- Inform supervisor or Mortgage Loan Originator of any discrepancies on any loan documentation provided or ordered.
- Effectively monitor pipeline report for all loans assigned to their queue to ensure timely forward progress and achievement of target closing date.
- Completes all file closing and funding requirements as follows:
- Coordinate and schedule closings with all required parties (Borrowers, Mortgage Originators, and Outside vendors).
- Communicate effectively with borrowers, mortgage loan originators, and outside vendors to ensure a best in class closing experience.
- Generate and coordinate delivery of all closing documentation to appropriate parties.
- Book and fund closed real estate loans in the appropriate system.
- Ensure all required payoff checks are generated and mailed.
- Review closed real estate loan documentation for accuracy and upload to appropriate system.
- Assign closed real estate files to Post Closing/Servicing.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Experience Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills Mortgage loan or related experience required. Must have good communication skills. Ten key calculator, typewriter and keyboard skills. An advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. Time management and organization skills are critical.

Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Direct Loan Processor Specialist, your primary objective will be to provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service to our members and coworkers from the application stage through the funding process for consumer loans.
You will be responsible for managing a large volume of inbound and outbound consumer loan-related calls from members and co-workers daily. With the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, you will be expected to actively listen to members, respond to their queries and concerns, and always deliver outstanding member service. As a Consumer Direct Lending Specialist, you will support Member Service and Branch employees with complex loans, questions, or escalations.
As a Direct Loan Processor Specialist, you should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance with laws and regulations related to credit union compliance.
Tasks, Duties, Functions- Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance, including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws appropriate to the position.
- Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound loan-related calls effectively, and simultaneously manage loan applications.
- Continuously develop yourself to solve problems and improve department performance.
- Foster a positive work environment by actively listening to and responding to members' and co-workers' needs with a courteous and helpful attitude.
- Analyze data, research, and collect documentation, and prepare loan documents with minimal errors.
- Obtain and verify the required Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) documentation to properly record the company's lien on the loan collateral.

- At least three years of experience working in a busy call center environment where high call and loan application volume are the norm.
