Job Purpose:

Design safe and efficient processes for Main Assembly and Sub-Assemblies for the AF Department.  Use analytic tools and traditional industrial engineering methods to optimize production functions.

Accountabilities:

• Use M.O.S.T. to develop balanced processes across AF manufacturing areas.  Work to achieve Maximum Process Efficiency.  Apply Lean Manufacturing techniques.  Design processes that are simple and achieve SQCDM targets.
• Perform time estimates for process/line work, equipment loads, and develop operation standards for the AF Department during development
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste within the process and improve efficiency. Apply 5S work methods, workstation design, and set best practices for production.
• Evaluate and implement ergonomic countermeasures to prevent associate injury.
• Maintain accurate AutoCAD department layout.
• Collect feedback from the production floor in AF and address their concerns.
• Read Parts drawings, Spec Notices, 3D CATIA data.

Qualifications

Education Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field or equivalent related experience.

Job Purpose

Job Purpose

Analyze drawings from feasibility through design phase to achieve a product that can be manufactured within the factory’s capabilities. Lead Manufacturing Mangement Center (MMC) to prepare and execute new model development and Trial Stage. Improve technical tasks and project targets from a technical viewpoint for product design. Lead entry level engineers through mentorship.

Key Accountabilities

• Conduct studies and detailed confirmations of new technologies, design concepts and manufacturing processes.
• Technical Lead for designated category of parts. Lead correlation of design verifications and represent department in global verification check alignment with Japan. Assure horizontal communication of past problem history across designated category of parts.
• Lead meetings and technical reviews to develop the most efficient manufacturing process (easy to manufacture, reduced Manpower, error proofing, built in quality, reduced ergo red, efficient part delivery).
• Ensure a robust process design for mass production combining manufacturing requirements, factory characteristics and project targets.
• Through the New Model development, help create and maintain all documents necessary for process, quality, robot/equipment, and training.
• Support physical verification of the vehicle during initial production at the factory. Understand the factory capability and constraints.
• Lead and support collaborative problem-solving activity with team members from your group and other business unit's including Design, Engineering and Buhin (purchasing).
• Develop capability of self, colleagues, and team through training, mentoring, and sharing of experiences in area of technical expertise. Assure technical know-how is developed for designated part category.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Technology, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering etc. or equivalent related experience
• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
• Excel, Power Point, Catia, Read Drawings, Honda Inventory Managemt system, Countermeasure Request Form knowledge, Part Drawing structure, Drawing creation (Minimum Level of Support), Manufacturing Mangement Center (MMC)constraints

Job Purpose

Design processes for safe and efficient automotive frame assembly. Use analytic tools and traditional industrial engineering methods to optimize Assembly Line production functions

Key Accountabilities

• Assist in developing a balanced process across manufacturing areas using Maynard Operation Sequence Technique (M.O.S.T.). Apply lean manufacturing techniques to support process efficiency and meet Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Morale (SQCDM) targets. Design and implement processes that are simple and effective.
• Audit and maintain data to ensure accurate information across all operations standards. Perform basic time estimates for production processes and equipment loads. Support the develop and refinement of operation standards.
• Support Stamping / Plastics Department Lead for Process Data Development and Analysis (PDDA), Managed Detection and Response System (MDRS), Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) systems. Participate in meetings with Honda functional groups to discuss improvement themes in Quality, Safety, Delivery, Production, Purchasing, Packaging, or Logistics.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste within the process and improve efficiency. Apply 5S work methods, workstation design, and set best practices for production.
• Evaluate and implement ergonomic countermeasures to prevent associate injury.
• Assist in developing plans and schedules for projects. Support New Model Events by incorporating change points into process design, and identifying concerns and countermeasure before mass production.

Shift: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm (with flexibility to work 3pm-12am 2nd shift occasionally)

The Manager is responsible for the day‐to‐day oversight and strategic development of the Company's production operations (assembly and workflow manufacturing). This individual will be a key contributor to the leadership team by ensuring all manufacturing and fulfillment activities meet quality standards and customers' expectations.

Job Responsibilities:

* Plan and manage the daily activities for the location, including digital print, receiving and put-away functions, picking/packing, and shipping functions for designated clients per the agreed-upon SLAs, and with a high level of quality and accuracy.


* Implement short- and long-range goals and operational plans to achieve designated site objectives while maintaining or increasing the overall site efficiency.


* Ensure necessary resources, i.e. staffing, training, and equipment, are available to meet prescribed productivity and service goals.


* Review existing operations to determine what improvements can be made with particular attention being paid to areas that allow for cost reduction, improved processing efficiency, and improved quality.


* Direct and oversee job assignments and plan daily labor schedules.


* Direct warehouse supervisory team to achieve the established objectives.


* Ensure that all orders are processed within the fulfillment center according to pre-established SLAs, standards of quality, efficiency, and costs.


* Ensure that the site achieves all inventory accuracy metrics as they relate to order fulfillment at the site, including cycle count accuracy, and shipping, receiving, and packing accuracy.


* Conduct effective communications with customers and employees.


* Lead management and staff meetings to organize warehouse activities.


* Administer and enforce all company policies fairly and consistently.


* Work in conjunction with Human Resources and operations management to maintain a positive employee relations environment.


* Enforce a safe working environment by complying with all safety procedures and OSHA regulations.


* Ensure the accurate and timely preparation, processing, distribution, and retention of all necessary reports and records regarding warehouse operations.


* Provide technical advice to employees


* Develop and implement staffing plans, operational budgets, capital equipment, and inventory requirements.


* Organize and prioritize existing resources and incorporate new information, as needed, to implement the most effective solutions.


* Work collaboratively to ensure ISO Quality standards and Customer expectations are met.


* Coach employees to peak performance by developing the skill level of your staff and their ability to produce quality work and increase efficiencies and productivity.


* Analyze and resolve work-related problems and assist employees with troubleshooting and solving production/quality issues.


* Understand the impact of operational decisions on the budget while controlling variable expenses.



Qualifications

* 5+ years of cumulative experience


* Domestic travel required (up to 20%)


* High school diploma required


* Experience with MS Office Suite and Google Suite


* Experience managing 30+ employees


* Reprogramming and troubleshooting scanners experience


* Hands‐on, self‐starter, multi‐tasker capable of delivering results in a fast‐paced, start‐up environment.


* Excellent leadership communication skills.


* Able to apply excellent business acumen and collaborative skills when resolving problems; consistently identifying critical elements, variables and alternatives to develop solutions.



Additional Information

The current salary range for this role is $90,800 to $145,300/ year. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the future. At Williams Lea/RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program. The Senior Polymer Process Engineer and active member of the growing operations team, responsible for process scale up, tech support and other manufacturing activities leading to full production of new products. Process specs, P&ID's, equipment specs and working with manufacturing partners and vendors.

Location: Flexible and may allow for relocation to one of several locations or work remotely with travel (approximately 40%).

To be successful in this critical role:

• BS/MS in Polymer / Material Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field
• Experience scaling up polymerization and chemical processes from lab to manufacturing with knowledge of high viscosity polymers. Experience with water soluble polymers / hydrogels is a plus.
• Prior experience leading pilot trials with CMO's or equipment vendors.
• Ability to work in a small to medium sized organization with limited bureaucracy.
