What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

**Job Summary:**
Responsible for performing general maintenance, both routine and emergency, on Reagent manufacturing equipment. Works on assignments that vary in nature from semi-routine mechanical maintenance to more complex troubleshooting of controls circuitry and Logic Controller functions focused primarily on activities that align with the needs identified by and in support of the Manufacturing Engineers. Participates in troubleshooting, process improvement, and new equipment installation. Uses independent judgment and critical thought processes to analyze, troubleshoot and repair complex equipment and machinery. Capable of lifting, pushing, pulling or moving of equipment and machinery up to 60lbs. Works independently with minimal supervision. Reads and interprets blueprints, electrical schematics, technical manuals, pneumatic schematics, and equipment specifications. May provide guidance to less experienced maintenance technicians. Interacts constructively as a team member in a team environment, supporting team goals and objectives. Has the ability to effectively make decisions relative to job duties/responsibilities. Provides technical support to engineering team on equipment installations and upgrades. Must be a team player and willing to help train and assist production associates as necessary.
**Duties & Responsibilities:**
Troubleshoots equipment breakdowns and performs mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance whenever required to ensure uninterrupted customer supply. Repairs, rebuilds, adjusts, inspects, and monitors production related equipment, machinery or piping systems. Provides support to Manufacturing Operations during primary assigned shift and supports alternate and/or extended shift manufacturing operations on an on-call basis as needed. Completes required preventative maintenance at defined intervals. Routinely assesses the suitability of such intervals and scope covered and works with Maintenance Planning Function to revise when necessary. Works with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to document repairs / changes made to equipment. Works with Maintenance Planning Function to:
+ Assure an adequate spare parts inventory to support manufacturing operations using electronic means to track on-hand quantities, part numbers, and other reorder data.
+ Establish preventative maintenance requirements for new equipment installations including frequency and scope of work involved.
+ Identify critical spare parts to have on-hand to prevent extended machine downtime.
+ Supports validations from a technical support perspective.
+ Supports all capital equipment projects as the subject matter expert (SME) for maintenance including specifications, design input, testing, etc.
+ Uses the SAP ATR system for tracking maintenance activities.
+ Procures replacement parts in support of preventive or predictive maintenance efforts.
+ Participates in Kaizen and Lean activities as necessary to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Builds departmental bench-strength in addressing mechanical/electrical issues through continuous mentoring to drive technician ownership of routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
+ Provides guidance for the distribution of work assignments for other technicians to achieve tasks and PM deliverables.
+ Complies with safety standards including Lock-Out/Tag-Out and Zero-Energy.
+ Complies with training in all manufacturing areas.

**Qualifications:**
Education and Experience Required:
+ High School Diploma/GED with 8 or more years of experience with high speed automated equipment maintenance in a manufacturing environment, or
+ Associate's degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical or Mechatronics or related technical fields with 2-3 years' experience with equipment maintenance in a manufacturing environment

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. **Program Summary:**

Our 18-month development program provides participants a full-time operational role, designed to improve their manufacturing skills and exposure to Saint-Gobain North America. Participants will be located at one singular manufacturing plant for 18 months and will be involved with quarterly travel to other Saint-Gobain manufacturing sites in North America. The time split between local site projects and EOM program activities is 80:20 respectively. Classroom-based E-learnings, hands-on action-based learning in operational environments as well as a plethora of networking opportunities, are just some of the activities in place designed to accelerate your career development and future career growth. These trainings and quarterly travel opportunities are a requirement for program completion and full participation should be given, except for extenuating circumstances. While start dates for EOM program participants may vary, program activities kickoff each year in July and end 18 months later in December of the following year. Upon program completion, EOM Engineers will work with our dedicated Human Resources team to find an operational role in one of our nearly 160 sites throughout North America. While a final placement role is not guaranteed, most EOM Engineer graduates are able to choose from multiple Saint-Gobain sites for final placement offers.
