The Automation Engineer shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following tasks:

· Work with the VP of Operations, Operations Engineering Directors/Managers, Plant Managers, and plant staff, along with corporate R & D, Commercial teams, and Finance staff to develop feasibility studies and mutually agreeable implementation plans which meet cost and timing criteria.
· Communicate and resolve technical, timing, and budgetary issues related to projects as they arise.
· Understand plant infrastructure, molding machines and related equipment, as well as requirements for changes and upgrades to improve safety, quality, and overall efficiency.
· Analyze the business, performance, and cost capabilities and limitations of new, proposed, or existing equipment. Includes evaluation of machinery, equipment, tooling, workflow, and vendors.
· Communicate and resolve technical, timing, and budgetary issues related to projects as they arise.
· Publish weekly project status reports outlining project status and issues.
· Develop and manage task lists, timelines and resources for completion of projects.

Troubleshoots equipment breakdowns and performs mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance whenever required to ensure uninterrupted customer supply. Repairs, rebuilds, adjusts, inspects, and monitors production related equipment, machinery or piping systems. Provides support to Manufacturing Operations during primary assigned shift and supports alternate and/or extended shift manufacturing operations on an on-call basis as needed. Uses the SAP ATR system for tracking maintenance activities.

The estimated starting compensation range is $ 39,848 - $103,002 . The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. We are looking for a skilled and proactive Manufacturing Automation Specialist to support and improve the automation systems within our high-security instant lottery ticket manufacturing and packaging facility. **Responsibilities**
+ Install, configure, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and other automation components.

**Qualifications**

+ Proficiency with PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI development, and industrial networking.

As a Manufacturing Automation Engineer at Design Group, you will join a dynamic system integration and consulting company to provide cutting edge solutions to a wide range of industries. Our engineers work on projects to provide SCADA and/or industrial control system solutions to Fortune 100 companies in the Food and Beverage, Life Science, and Industrial market segments. The scope of work can include anything in the life cycle of a project starting from definition and selection of a platform to development/debugging and onsite startup. Frequently this team is working on first-of-a-kind solutions to solve real-world operational problems for our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Working as an individual or in a team with other Manufacturing Automation Engineers. Can also include working on large projects with other engineering disciplines such as greenfield design of a new manufacturing plant and all associated software system
- Designing SCADA systems which may include databases and database interfaces, data handling & reporting, scripting (VB, python, etc.) and general programming.
- Onsite startup of systems that you designed and implemented.
- Understanding project requirements to develop/configure industrial control packages accordingly for use in manufacturing space.
- Understanding technical and operational constraints to create project development and commissioning plans.
- Managing multiple scopes of work in various phases simultaneously
- Communicating with client stake holders to understand scopes of work and deliverables
- Understanding/skills with back-end computing infrastructure used in manufacturing (compute hardware, virtualization, OS's, networking, databases, etc.) is a plus.
- 3+ years of System Integration, SCADA / industrial control system development. Candidates with experience in the food and beverage or life science industries are preferred
- Requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to simultaneously organize and successfully execute multiple project responsibilities is needed.
- Candidates must possess good communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with all levels of management, clients, and vendors. Contractor and Construction management skills are also a plus.
- Requires the ability to mentor and train other less experienced engineers.
- Willing and able to travel as necessary for project requirements to include but not be limited to: project installation and start-up activities, client meetings, company sponsored meetings, training's, industry related seminars, forums, or conventions, etc.
- Proven experience with GE iFIX HMI/SCADA software, including system configuration, troubleshooting, and application development
- Expertise in at least one of the following SCADA platforms: Ignition, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Aveva Wonderware System Platform, or GE.
