Job Description
This is an Operations position responsible for supervising the activities associated with the general maintenance, repair, and appearance of the facility, outside grounds, security, power industrial equipment technicians and third-party providers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, expense management, compliance with government regulations, ensuring safety and security of the building, its contents and people and management and direction to facility maintenance staff.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Manages the daily work and safety of associates engaged in building, grounds, sanitation, refrigeration systems, beverage department, power industrial equipment, Material Handling Equipment (MHE), automation, and security.
+ Oversees labor hours and consumable supplies within budget.
+ Prepares work schedules including extra work days and shifts as needed.
+ Coordinates emergency response or crisis management activities, develops and maintains liaisons with local emergency management and other entities to facilitate plan development, response effort coordination and assists Safety Manager with training initiatives.
+ Supervises the proper selection, purchase, utilization, and inventory of Company assets in support of the facilities, beverage department, and power industrial equipment, Material Handling Equipment (MHE), Automation, and security departments. Coordinates with other departments as necessary to ensure upgrades and repairs are completed efficiently and effectively.
+ Develops business relationships to ensure communication and efficient operations with third-party vendors, including but not limited to, janitorial, pest services, security, external contractors, facility maintenance and beverage.
+ Maintains current certificate of insurance and hold harmless agreements for all contracted vendors.
+ Suggests efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures and assists with the implementation of changes within facility maintenance, beverage, power industrial equipment, and security.
+ Establishes preventative maintenance schedules for all systems, equipment, and buildings including: ammonia refrigeration system, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, fire protection and security systems, electrical and energy management, dock doors/dock plate systems, power industrial equipment, Material Handling Equipment (MHE), Automation, building components (roof, interior and exterior floors/walls, doors, paved surfaces and landscaping).
+ Handles, assignments, and monitors department projects for quality and timely completion.
+ Utilizes maintenance tracking software for task management.
+ Conducts audits ensuring all required inspections and documentation are completed accurately (including but not limited to food safety documentation, EPSM, PSM, GFSI, etc.) and retained to ensure a minimum potential for loss.
+ Preserve associate relations through regular department or pre-shift meetings.
+ Maintains on-going interaction.
+ Keeps open communication channels with associates by answering questions and explaining policies and procedures; monitors associate morale, and submits and respond to ideas to improve associate engagement and enablement.
+ Interprets trains and consistently enforces Company policies and procedures.
+ Coordinates efforts with the Safety department to aid in training, conducting associate observations, up-dating preferred work methods, conducting accident investigations to determine root causes and routine safety inspections.
+ Makes recommendations for disciplinary action and/or behavior modification where required.
+ Execute management functions of staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews and/or terminations.
+ Performs the duties of associates supervised and other related duties as needed.
+ Complies with local, state and federal regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, EPA, etc.)
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education**
+ High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
**Experience**
+ 5 years maintenance experience; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
**Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations**
+ Must possess a valid state Driver's License and provide proof of liability coverage meeting Company standards.
+ Complete a Sysco approved defensive driving program.
+ Level 1 Ammonia Operation Certification required, or must obtain within 60 days of employment and pass on the first try as a condition of employment. Level 2 is preferred.
+ HAZWOPER 24 hrs Training required or must obtain within 60 days of employment and pass on the first try as a condition of employment.
+ Certificate, licenses and registrations in refrigeration required.
+ Obtain a Powered Industrial Equipment Certification from Sysco within 3 months.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

Position Objective:
To provide shipping, receiving, storage and order fulfillment services for finished goods, inventory control, materials, supplies, parts and equipment at the assigned facility(s).
Essential Functions:
Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and correctly process items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements while sustaining a high level of quality to ensure customers receive correct product and in the time requested.
Receive materials and/or finished goods on a daily basis. Verify the quality, type and amount of materials received are correct and that the appropriate documentation is present (e.g. packing list).
Work in a warehouse environment under various temperatures including room temperature (59-86 degrees F).
Safely operate distribution equipment, as required.
Nature and Scope:
This position largely interacts with equivalent levels of internal personnel. That interaction requires good communication skills and customer service skills. Effectiveness in this role also requires some knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control procedures as well as the ability to understand and interpret team metrics. The job encounters recurring work situations of a routine nature where the ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. Accuracy is required in performing all functions of this position; errors in work could cause delays in schedules. This position requires the individual to be ready to start work on-time daily and maintain strong attendance performance. The incumbent normally receives general instruction on routine work and detailed instruction on new assignments. Equipment training will be provided through one-on-one instruction, on-the-job training (OJT), *** generated Standard Training Protocol (STP) and/or other training documentation.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Requires a minimum of 2-5 years related experience. Some experience in logistics with a life science company preferred. The proven ability to consistently and independently follow policies and procedures, instructions, and to meet schedules required. Must be able to operate powered industrial trucks and with the ability to operate the equipment at various heights. Need basic computer skills to navigate ERP systems, Outlook and shipping software in order to support the operation in its daily functions.
Working Conditions:
Works in a warehouse environment under various temperatures including room temperature (59-86 degrees F), cold-room (36-46 degrees F). Performs work of a highly repetitive nature. Will walk, stand, reach, and lift up to 25lbs on a continuous basis. Will routinely push and pull up to 25lbs and regularly climb. May occasionally sit, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift up to 50lbs. May handle "packaged" hazardous materials. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The nature of the operation's working environment is conducive to varying degrees of stress throughout the day. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
