The Nancy & Donald Resnick Academic Center for Student-Athletes (RAC) provides comprehensive academic advising and support services for Temple's 500 student-athletes. The Learning Specialist position is responsible for working directly with a caseload of student-athletes to facilitate the enhancement of their skills needed to be successful at the university level. The position follows a 10-month schedule, with the months of June and July designated as non-working months.
The Learning Specialist will assist in identifying student learning difficulties, coordinating referrals leading to appropriate testing and diagnosis, and will act as liaison to the Office of Disability Resources and Services (DRS). In addition, the Learning Specialist also works with other members of the Resnick Academic Support Center to provide and coordinate a full range of support in addressing student athletes' academic and study skill needs. The learning specialist works one on one with student-athletes to develop strategies to promote academic success. The successful candidate will be skilled at creating rapport and building productive relationships with student-athletes, while assisting colleagues in the development of a student-centered, service-oriented program of support. The learning specialist oversee the tutorial support program, which includes recruiting, hiring, training, and scheduling tutoring appointments each semester. Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in education, school psychology or related field and at least three years of directly related experience. At least one year of experience providing supplemental support for students with disabilities. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience: One (1) years of experience providing counseling or advising services, or conducting recruitment or enrollment activities.
- Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education. Knowledge of best practices in the recruitment of student athletes. Knowledge of establishing and implementing individualized learning plans. Skill in oral and written communication. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products. Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws. Ability to multitask while demonstrating a commitment to customer service and sensitivity to a culturally and ethnically diverse community.

When and where will you work?
- This position is an onsite position in Scottsdale, AZ **Must work in Chandler once we relocate***.
- The shift is 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, with flexibility to work on first and second shift as training needs require.
- Develop, deliver and document formal and informal learning solutions using a variety of methods.
- Learn the jobs and processes in Pharmacy Operations in order to be able to teach others.
- Develop materials, schedule and conduct competency assessments and other qualifications as prescribed.
- Collaborate with the leaders in Operations and Quality and other subject matter experts, to devise approaches to learning.
- Research, document and share new and proven training methods, concepts, best practices and procedures with the training team.
- Document and maintain training records within regulatory and compliance guidelines.
- Document, review, audit and make recommendations to leaders in Operations and Quality related to standard operating procedures, work and formula instructions, policies and processes.
- Assists with identifying learning and process gaps and the development and execution of CAPA (corrective and preventative actions)
- Monitor and coach learners throughout the process, as appropriate, to ensure that learning is being applied and performance is continually improving over time.
- Employ sound instructional strategies to create a positive learning experience and enable learners to be successful.
- Deliver, develop and assess the effectiveness of programs, courses and other interventions designed to ensure that all personnel- newly hired, new-to-role, experienced - have the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform at optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Operations and Quality leaders and other key stakeholders to ensure training is implemented consistently and effectively.
- Collaborate with Managers, Supervisors and other subject matter experts to acquire knowledge of situations that require learning solutions and to learn about changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies and their impact.
