Job Description: The Business Development Specialist is responsible for lead generation and business development including building partnerships and engaging with a variety of stakeholders for reputation management and growth. This position is responsible for contacting potential new clients, community involvement and securing new business opportunities including clients. Our ideal candidate will have a fundamental understanding of the overall SaaS business model, including the roles of sales and marketing as they relate to revenue optimization through lead generation, customer acquisition and customer lifecycle marketing.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Owning the planning and proactive business development activities focused on new business growth in strategic markets (in-person and virtually).
- Working with Palco functional operation teams to determine business development strategies and priorities.
- Traveling to represent Palco and grow brand awareness in key markets to prospective government clients through presentations and demonstrations.
- Cold calling & prospecting to generate leads. Onsite visits will be required. Utilize social media to its fullest potential to generate quality leads.
- Negotiating new contracts with clients - including amendments and extensions
- Create and execute quarterly and annual business development plans to support company growth goals.
- Consult and engage with community partnerships and develop relationships for collaboration and reputation growth.
- Document and keep accurate records of client engagement and partnership development.
- Influence and collaborate on marketing campaign and material development.
- Evaluate Self-Direction markets and research competitor's line of services within each state or program waiver.
- Meet participant growth goals set forth by Executive Management Team.
- Have a minimum of 2 years of demonstrable public sector business development and deal management experience.
- Have track record of generating multi-million-dollar services revenue with State government entities.
- Have effective public speaking and presentation skills to a wide variety of audiences, including high-level executives and clients.
- Maintain a modern selling approach in your business activities and demonstrate capability to learn and execute the companies' selling strategies.
- Have high standards for ethics, accountability, teamwork, humility, and ownership.
- Preferred experience selling Software as a Service (SaaS)
- History of working with procurement offices including State and Local solicitations
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Experience working with Home and Community Based Services or Long-Term Care Medicaid services industry required.

As a Sales Specialist you are responsible for supporting budgeted occupancy goals through targeted sales and marketing activities. Heavy inside and outside sales are required to be successful in this position. Your role includes effectively marketing and conveying what makes Cascade Living different from other communities to seniors by building a network of contacts both within healthcare and outside the senior living industry.
What you can expect to do as a Sales Specialist:
- Travel to and reside Monday to Friday at Cascades Living Group communities providing sales support on-site.
- Provide interim support to manage and lead the Sales and Marketing process to meet or exceed occupancy and revenue targets as needed.
- Help to identify and train an inquiry call back-up team to ensure that no inquiries are missed
- Ensure proper interview and assessments are conducted on all new prospects prior to the move-in date. Support the training of an assessment team on the marketing and selling aspects of the assessment.
- Develop and implement a Cascade Living Group approved tour protocol for the community.
- Support the process of lead generation by following up on all inquiries and assisting in staying in constant contact with warm leads.
- Conduct tours for prospects while on-site at the community.
- Support the development of relationships through outreach to gain knowledge of the communities' marketplace and create professional referrals with various contacts, including social workers, case managers, physicians, nurses, therapists, managers, administrators, and religious leaders.
- Support the development and organization of targeted special events every month.
- Help maintain and support conduct extensive competitor analysis by touring competitor communities on-site.
- While on-site, help to promote the mission, values, and beliefs of Cascade Living Group with the leadership teams and associates at the communities.
- Preferred 3-5 years experience minimum of Sales and Marketing in Senior Living
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- History of hitting or exceeding monthly and quarterly occupancy and move-in goals

Basic Qualifications
Minimum of one year of sales experience is required for this position. Qualified applicants will possess a high level of knowledge of pet nutrition and an aptitude for sales techniques. Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills are necessary due to the nature of interaction with the public and other partners and leaders within the store.
Certification
Completing and maintaining of the appropriate specialist level of the Petco Certification program is required in this role.

Work Environment
The majority of job duties are conducted indoors, although merchandise receiving, merchandise carry-outs, or stock balancing will require leaving the store briefly. Improper use of safety equipment and/or not following proper lifting techniques may pose of risk of injury to customers, pets, and Pet Care Center personnel.
