AM Testing is a small, family-owned product testing and certification laboratory located in Punta Gorda, FL. We are proud to provide a full spectrum of consumer product testing services, accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 by A2LA and accepted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). Our work supports manufacturers, importers, and retailers in ensuring that their products meet critical safety standards—especially for children’s toys and similar consumer goods.

We are currently seeking a hardworking, reliable, and curious individual with an interest in laboratory processes and hands-on technical tasks to join our team as a Laboratory Technician.


Position Summary:

As a Product Testing Technician, you will play a key role in supporting our toy and consumer product testing services. You will be responsible for preparing samples, performing tests, maintaining equipment, and ensuring all work complies with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and applicable regulatory methods such as ASTM F963, SOR 2011 and EN 71. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with a team, learning new skills, and being part of a mission-driven lab that protects consumers.


Responsibilities:

·   Conduct routine physical mechanical and flammability testing according to internal SOPs and standardized methods.

·   Record test results accurately and maintain detailed documentation.

·   Clean, maintain, and organize laboratory workspaces and equipment.

·   Verify laboratory instruments and scales to ensure accuracy.

·   Keep customer samples and job documentation organized throughout the testing process.

·   Occasionally assist other technicians and support staff with tasks and cross-training.

·   Participate in general lab duties and support projects as needed.


Qualifications:

·   High School diploma or equivalent.

·   Competent with basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Email, etc.).

·   Comfortable using basic hand tools, balances, scales, and calibrated lab equipment.

·   Able to lift 50 lbs. easily and up to 75 lbs. or more occasionally.

·   Team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn.

Preferred:

·   Associate degree in Materials Science, or a related technical field OR relevant work experience.

·   Prior laboratory or product testing experience (a plus, but not required).

·   Interest in regulatory standards and quality systems (e.g., CPSC, ASTM, ISO 17025).

**What will you do?**
A day in the life of a Product Testing Analyst at Vans looks a little like this.
As a key member of the Global Footwear Product Development Team, the Product Testing Analyst will work across all footwear categories to coordinate and communicate the results of fit testing, while supporting wear testing in collaboration with the Human Factors Researcher. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Fit and Wear Testing, this role is responsible for managing the fit testing process, identifying trends, providing actionable recommendations, and contributing to product development decisions. You'll be engaged throughout the product creation process, from pre-season briefing to product launch, requiring close communication and collaboration with internal business partners.
Let's break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.
+ Own the footwear fit testing process at each seasonal stage gate:
+ Conduct in-person fit tests and report on first-impression feedback.
+ Recruit, educate, and maintain a network of product testers throughout the product creation process, including use of the 3D foot scanner and specialized fit models.
+ Establish and maintain relationships with external testing partners (universities, skate shops, etc.).
+ Partner with the Human Factors Researcher to support wear test execution, ensuring smooth logistics and accurate data collection.
+ Communicate with VFA counterparts on risk assessment, best practices, and constructions to ensure best-in-class product integrity.
+ Work closely with Product Developers on every new style:
+ Provide structured feedback to help guide the project team in maintaining Vans' fit and performance expectations.
+ Manage product tech reports throughout the season and summarize key learnings.
+ Take ownership of the model fit (T1) and extreme fit (T2) processes during commercialization.
+ Monitor competitor products and support comparative testing initiatives.
+ Travel domestically and/or internationally (1-2 times per year) to assist with product feedback collection

Overview

Metalcraft of Mayville is seeking Product Test Technicians on 1st shift or 2nd Shift at our Mayville, WI facility. As a Product Test Technician for Scag Power Equipment, you will be primarily responsible for daily operation of equipment according to designated test procedures. The equipment tested and operated in this role, is primarily turf care and landscaping equipment, such as lawn mowers, mini-track loaders and wheel loaders. This position will require work in both indoor and outdoor environments, with a large majority of the time being spent outdoors. You will also support the test engineering department in other tasks as needed.
