**Your Key Responsibilities**
Handling tax in such a large, sophisticated organization takes more than just a technical understanding of current tax practices. As a Property Tax Staff, we'll look to you to apply your knowledge to a wide range of tax areas and processes, devising strategic outcomes to some very complex issues. In return, you can expect the support of some of the most engaging colleagues around, as well as plenty of opportunities to progress your career.
As a Staff in our Property Tax Practice, you'll spend much of your time supporting client engagements by participating in day-to-day interactions with clients, providing a quality work product and driving delivery of services to meet deadlines. You'll continuously build on your technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and legislation that impact our clients. As a Staff on our team, you will:
+ Demonstrate an understanding of complex commercial real and personal property tax concepts and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations
+ Develop and deliver quality tax planning approaches with timely and responsive services and work products that exceed client expectations
+ Identify and offer opportunities for tax planning and other special services
+ Prepare quality, practical approaches to the client's tax situation and arrive at appropriate conclusions
**Skills and attributes for success**
**To qualify for the role, you must have**
+ A predicted undergraduate or graduate degree with a concentration in Finance, Economics, International Business, or a related field.
+ A strong academic record including, without limitation, course work that EY deems relevant to this position.
+ Excellent communication skills, proficiency in basic MS Office tools, and strong writing skills, with business fluency in the English language.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
+ The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.

**Position Summary.**
Manager, Tax - Indirect Tax (Sales and Operations)
Location: Bentonville, AR
In this role, you will work with a dynamic team of tax professionals to ensure that Walmart, a Fortune 1 market leader, accurately applies transaction taxes to customers and members shopping online and at our over 5,000 brick-and-mortar Walmart and Sam's Club locations in the United States and Puerto Rico. The transaction scale and scope of complexity of taxation at Walmart will attract individuals who are excited to navigate novel challenges and engaged by intellectually stimulating work.
As a Manager, you will research and analyze complex transaction tax issues, leverage your sales tax engine experience to monitor and apply tax changes, and play a key role in leading a successful journey towards Tax Modernization.
About Indirect Tax at Walmart
The Indirect Tax Team plays a critical role in Walmart's ability to navigate the complex landscape of indirect taxation, ensuring compliance and maximizing profitability across the corporation. The complexity and scale of taxation at Walmart encompasses our ecommerce business, brick & mortar stores, other business ventures and beyond.
The Sales Tax Operations (STO) team at Walmart is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of transaction taxes charged to customers and members shopping online and at our brick-and-mortar locations. The STO team performs research and assessments of transactional tax law changes and implements any necessary configuration changes of indirect taxes to thousands of jurisdictions each year. This is a unique opportunity to join the team during an end-to-end tax modernization project and assist in the transformation of the Sales Tax function at an industry leader.
**What you'll do.**
+ Configure Sales Tax engines for Walmart.com, Walmart Marketplace, and SamsClub.com, including Vertex O Series and Thomson Reuters OneSource Indirect to comply with tax rate and rule changes.
+ Research legislative and regulatory changes to state and local sales tax law, analyze the impact on our business and compliance requirements, effectively communicate necessary changes, and work as a team to successfully implement those changes. 
+ Assist in review and categorization of item level attributes to assign proper taxability.
+ Manage multiple projects and provide guidance and support to other STO associates.
+ Bring sales tax and systems experience to become an active participant in the Tax Modernization project.
+ Effectively communicate tax technical requirements to technology partners.
+ Assist with special projects as needed.
**What you'll bring:**
+ 3-5 years of indirect tax experience that includes a mix of sales tax, use tax, product tax, excise tax, transaction tax, gross receipts tax, and tax technical concepts.
+ 1-2 years of hands-on sales tax engine experience including system integration work, rule creation and other general system management.
+ An undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree or certification (e.g., JD, LLM, Master's Degree, CPA, or CMI) related to Taxation is preferred.
+ Past roles in industry (retail and/or ecommerce) and/or consulting (Big 4).
+ Strong tax research and writing skills.
+ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
+ Desire to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
+ A passion for tackling challenges and engaging at Fortune 1 scale.

As a Staff in our Property Tax Practice, you'll spend much of your time supporting client engagements by participating in day-to-day interactions with clients, providing a quality work product and driving delivery of services to meet deadlines. + Demonstrate an understanding of complex commercial real and personal property tax concepts and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations
+ Develop and deliver quality tax planning approaches with timely and responsive services and work products that exceed client expectations
+ Identify and offer opportunities for tax planning and other special services
+ Prepare quality, practical approaches to the client's tax situation and arrive at appropriate conclusions

+ A predicted undergraduate or graduate degree with a concentration in Finance, Economics, International Business, or a related field.
+ A strong academic record including, without limitation, course work that EY deems relevant to this position.
+ Excellent communication skills, proficiency in basic MS Office tools, and strong writing skills, with business fluency in the English language.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

**Your Key Responsibilities**
Handling tax in such a large, sophisticated organization takes more than just a technical understanding of current tax practices. As a Property Tax Staff, we'll look to you to apply your knowledge to a wide range of tax areas and processes, devising strategic outcomes to some very complex issues. As a Staff in our Property Tax Practice, you'll spend much of your time supporting client engagements by participating in day-to-day interactions with clients, providing a quality work product and driving delivery of services to meet deadlines. You'll continuously build on your technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and legislation that impact our clients. As a Staff on our team, you will:
+ Demonstrate an understanding of complex commercial real and personal property tax concepts and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations
+ Develop and deliver quality tax planning approaches with timely and responsive services and work products that exceed client expectations
+ Identify and offer opportunities for tax planning and other special services
+ Prepare quality, practical approaches to the client's tax situation and arrive at appropriate conclusions
**Skills and attributes for success**
**To qualify for the role, you must have**
+ A predicted undergraduate or graduate degree with a concentration in Finance, Economics, International Business, or a related field.
+ A strong academic record including, without limitation, course work that EY deems relevant to this position.
+ Excellent communication skills, proficiency in basic MS Office tools, and strong writing skills, with business fluency in the English language.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
+ The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.
+ Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver's license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.
**Ideally, you will have**
+ Proficiency in a technology-enabled environment.
+ Broad exposure to state and local taxation.
+ Interest or exposure to real estate and value issues.
+ Knowledge of how to leverage firm-approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $78,000 to $86,000. This role will assist in all aspects of property tax compliance - valuation, rendition, controversy, audit and planning - for the real and business personal property owned by Abbott Laboratories. The Property Tax Analyst will be primarily accountable for the timely creation and submission of a high-volume of business personal property tax returns, and the accounting and timely payment of a high-volume of property tax bills. This position requires the availability for occasional travel (<5%) and occasional (seasonal) overtime. **What You'll Work On** + Interact with multiple software systems/platforms to obtain and maintain asset data from multiple corporate divisions; + Prepare, analyze and submit annual business personal property returns for Abbott property throughout the United States; + Research and analyze the validity of assessed values for real and personal property accounts by producing independent valuations using generally accepted valuation methods; + Execute the timely payment of real and personal property tax liabilities throughout the United States; + Assist in the preparation, response and favorable resolution of property tax audits for Abbott owned/operated property; + Assist with the research, preparation and negotiation/adjudication of real and business personal property tax appeals; + Assist with on-site research at Abbott facilities throughout the United States; + Coordinate and execute other projects as directed by management; + Be responsible for continuous self-improvement and continuing education in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing legal and technological landscape. **Required Qualifications** + B.S./B.A. in Accounting, Finance or other relevant major. + Prior experience in a Tax, Finance, AR/AP, or similar corporate/consulting environment. + Proficient in Microsoft Excel. + Excellent oral/written communication skills. + Excellent analytical skills and a pronounced ability to independently problem-solve. + Excellent time-management skills and the ability to effectively prioritize a high-volume, dead-line driven workload. **Preferred Qualifications** + CPA, CMI, and/or MAI designation(s). + 2+ years of property tax experience. + Proficient in Alteryx, SAP and/or PTMS (Property Tax) software.
