Position Overview
The Teacher Assistant role is responsible for providing classroom support to the Lead Teacher and completing daily tasks within a classroom environment.

- Help students adjust, learn, socialize, and report to teachers about possible behavioral issues.
- Ensures classrooms are safe and tidy before and after student departure.
- Supervise students during transitions, breakfast, lunch, and after school.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Participating in annual three-week staff orientation and training.
- Partner with the SPED Team to review material taught in class with individual students who require additional support.
- Assist Lead Teacher by problem-solving and making timely determinations with classroom issues solution-focused.
- Establish, cultivates, and maintains a collaborative relationship with the Lead Teacher.
- Responsible for managing and reducing risk within the classroom with the support of the Lead teacher and seeking assistance when needed to resolve the matter.

+ Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
+ Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
+ State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
+ State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
+ State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
+ Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
