Overview

Under general supervision, is responsible for picking, packing and shipping of all inbound and outbound shipments along with the duties associated with shipment preparation. The incumbent prepares bills of lading for freight carriers, assists in loading trucks and obtains signatures on shipments. Responsible for counting & recording material to ensure accuracy of shipment and receipt; performs related duties as required.

Responsibilities

    Assemble orders and prepare goods for shipment
  • Record shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability
  • Assists in the handling of materials and items from receiving area to designated bin locations
  • Facilitates outbound shipments using proper packing methods and 3rd party delivery services
  • Fulfills orders that are ready for shipment via will call, delivery or install
  • Receive and unpack materials and supplies
  • Report damages and discrepancies to request reimbursement or re-shipment
  • Maintain logs of all shipments outgoing and incoming
  • Fills requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes accordingly
  • Allocates product to appropriate rack, shelf or bin location according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, brand or product code
  • Prepare monthly production and volume reports in order to measure productivity and prepare billing charges

May possibly perform any of the following functions at the direction of management:

  • Handle hazardous materials
  • Effectively maneuvers through computer system in order to perform specified duties
  • Assists with execution of weekly cycle counts to ensure inventory integrity
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
  • Posts weights and shipping charges and affixes postage
  • Marks materials with identifying information
Qualifications
  • High school Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or production experience
  • Experienced operating power tool equipment including but not limited to cherry picker, reach truck, pallet jack, etc.
  • Previous experience with material handling is required
  • Working knowledge of scanning equipment, internal database tracking system, dollies and carts
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent customer service, professional attitude and appearance are a must
  • Ability to work overtime & meet deadlines

Physical Demands

Physical activity required including bending, reaching, lifting and prolonged periods of sitting or standing

May lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Experience operating power tool equipment

If required to operate a forklift, must be forklift certified and be able to use hand truck to move, convey or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work

Embark on your journey as a Part-time Warehouse Associate, where you're at the heart of our operations. You'll not only handle the ebb and flow of products as they enter and leave the facility, but you'll dive into the world of inventory management for a leader in industrial distribution. This position is for our branch located at 1 Enterprise Ct, Sewell, NJ 08080. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

o Managing and maintaining branch inventory

o Receiving, picking, packaging, shipping, and cycle counting inventory

o Making local deliveries with a company vehicle as necessary

o Maintaining a clean and safe work environment

o Performing other duties as needed to ensure branch success

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

o 18 years of age or older, due to the nature of work

o Possess a current full valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located (including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program for your state or province) as well as the ability to meet our driving record requirements to use a company vehicle, as needed

The normal duties may include loading, unloading, palletizing, receiving, locating, picking and packing safety products (such as safety goggles, gloves, boots, hydrating beverages and more) or other warehouse-related tasks as assigned. These duties may be accomplished by lifting (up to 50 pounds), placing, carrying, pushing, rolling (cages, carts, or ladders), using motorized conveyors, or operating hand trucks, pallet jacks (manual or powered), forklifts, order pickers, banding tools, packaging equipment or other material handling equipment. This position reports to a warehouse lead, supervisor, or manager as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following:
- Verifies accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments and orders.
- Stacks and arranges products.
- Wraps/packs orders for shipping.
- Maintains clean work area to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- All candidates will be required to become forklift certified.
- All candidates will be cross trained in all areas of the warehouse.
- Other duties may be assigned.

What experience and skills must I possess?

- HS diploma/GED preferred or equivalent experience
- 0-1 year warehousing or similar experience
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to push and or pull up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to stand/walk up to 10 hours
- Ability to read and comprehend customers' orders, bills of lading, etc.
- Basic math skills
- Knowledge or ability to learn computer software systems
- Stand-up Forklift, Cherry Picker, and Pallet Jack experience a plus
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and work overtime as needed. Overtime may be prior to and/or after scheduled work hours.
