Summary
JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager coordinates the total day to day operations for the central staffing office, patient placement and flow, flex pool and clinical liaison activities. Oversees staffing, training, and is a liaison with physicians, hospital personnel and hospital departments. Reports to the Director of Operations Resource Center and Virtual Hospital. Establishes performance improvement initiatives, holds self and team accountable for goals and outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Has 24/7 accountability and oversight of all aspects of nursing resources to enhance organizational operational effectiveness, and nursing staffing office. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation within areas as assigned Maintains staff personnel files. Provides education, audit and supervision of staffing policy. Oversees regular audits of staff attendance, program compliance, and competencies. Follows up on issues as appropriate and implements preventive measure where possible. Responsible for the oversight of agency RN reverse billing process and payments
Serves as the leader of the Manpower Command Center when necessary for disasters, or situations significantly impacting staff resources (i. e. , COVID), facilitating distribution of resources and services as indicated Tasks: Responsible for the supervision and management of the central staffing office, float pool, and clinical liaison. Completion of employee schedules for each area. Coordinates recruiting, hiring and scheduling functions for all staff in these departments. Performs evaluations and manages disciplinary and performance issues as appropriate. Responsible for overseeing the preparation of nursing department timekeeping in preparation for payroll. Collaborates with the Director and HOCs to facilitate patient flow and patient placement. Participates in orientation of new personnel Coordinates and holds regularly scheduled staff meetings Uses chain of command for advanced problem solving and resolution.
Assists in the development of optimized, evidence-bases scheduling methodologies. Monitors productivity reports, variance reports and staffing trends to ensure appropriate staffing levels. Monitors the efficiency and effectiveness of staffing and scheduling practices. Negotiates and manages contracts with suppliers and providers of nursing services Monitors supply and utilization charge capture.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Registered Nurse License in Maryland (or Compact State as applicable)
- BLS Certification from the American Heart Association
