The Heavy Equipment Mechanic Supervisor will support equipment maintenance and repair operations for U.S. Army Reserve missions. This position is responsible for supervising, diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining a variety of heavy power equipment, ensuring all machinery operates safely and efficiently in accordance with contract requirements and Army standards.
This position will analyze malfunctions and perform complex repairs and equipment such as cranes, bulldozers, scrapers, power shovels, paving machines, motor graders, trench-digging machines, conveyors, dredges, pumps, compressors, and pneumatic tools. The mechanic inspects and tests equipment to identify defects, disassembles and reassembles components using hoists and hand tools, and examines parts for excessive wear or damage. Duties also include replacing defective engines and subassemblies, conducting tests to verify operating efficiency, and welding broken or damaged parts as needed.
In addition to hands-on repair duties, this position provides direct supervision to personnel engaged in equipment maintenance, cleaning, assembly, and disassembly. The supervisor ensures that all safety standards are followed, maintenance records are accurate, and productivity goals are met. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic Supervisor may also assist in repairs and maintenance of specialized machinery such as drilling, stripping, or continuous mining equipment. Performs all other position-related duties as assigned. A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) is required for this position to meet the scope of contract operations. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, leadership skills, and experience managing maintenance teams in a military or industrial environment.

BASIC FUNCTION
The Vice President of Student Services reports directly to the Superintendent-President and is responsible for the leadership and administration of staff and operation of Student Services departments including enrollment services, student activities, counseling, and special programs.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES- Provides leadership and supervision in the planning, organizing, and coordination of Student Services Departments while achieving the institutional goals and objectives, and ensuring that academic support services are provided to students in achieving student success.
- Direct, supervise, assign, and evaluate assigned administrators, faculty, and staff.
- Maintain a high profile within the community, including public and private schools and area colleges and universities. Assess the student services needs of the local communities.
- Directs the core departments of Counseling, Enrollment Services, Special Services, and Student Activities. Oversees the development and evaluation of policies and procedures in these areas. Oversees student activities and student government.
- Systematically assess student support services using student learning outcomes and other appropriate measures in order to improve the effectiveness of these services. Conducts reviews of all student services programs on an annual basis.
- Oversee a complex budget requiring coordination of categorical, general funds, and foundation resources. Monitor and approve expenditures within Student Services Departments. Assist in the development of student services programs and grant proposals.
- Establish and chair advisory groups for programs and services as necessary. Serve as a member or advisor on participatory governance committees as appropriate.
- Ensure all Student Services departments operate in compliance with Title 5, Title IX, Education Code, and other applicable laws and regulations. Oversee mandated reporting as required.
- Serves as an advisory member of Curriculum Committee to advise on creating and maintaining student-centered curriculum; also works closely with administration and faculty to develop and implement the Student Success and Equity Plan.
- Oversee the processing, investigations, and actions taken on student complaints and student discipline. Administer and enforce student conduct policies and regulations.
- Serve as a member of the President’s Cabinet. Serve on other District and College Committees.
- Represent the District/College at conferences and workshops appropriate to the position.
- Perform other work related duties as assigned.
- Master’s degree in education, counseling, or student services related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in student services area including at least one (1) year with leadership and managerial experience.
- Demonstrated evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds in a community college environment.
Knowledge of:

This role involves operating all equipment, stocking ingredients from the delivery area, work areas, and walk-in cooler; preparing product; receiving and processing telephone orders; taking inventory and completing associated paperwork; and cleaning equipment and facilities daily. Training is provided on the job.

- Deliver product by car to the door of the customer; deliver flyers and door hangers or other marketing materials as assigned.
- Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen; process orders with accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use a calculator); must be able to make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, written, and telephone communication skills to take and process orders and to communicate with customers and co-workers.
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to perform precise movements quickly.
- Ability to navigate using maps and read addresses within the designated delivery area; proficient in using basic tools and computers.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions when performing outside tasks; in-store temperatures range from 36°F to 90°F and above; exposure to food odors, dust, and hot surfaces (up to 500°F) and sharp edges.
- Cramped quarters (including walk-in cooler); potential exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Physical tasks including standing for long periods, lifting up to 60 pounds, carrying heavy items (e.g., pizza boxes around 30 pounds), pushing/pulling loads, climbing stairs or ladders occasionally, bending, reaching, handling and manipulating multiple objects.
- Achieve necessary sensory inputs: talking and hearing on the telephone, near and mid-range vision for in-store tasks, and depth perception.
- Training: Orientation and on-the-job training provided.
- Temperaments and capabilities: ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone or with others, work under stress, meet quality standards, and analyze data to make judgments and decisions.
- Machines, tools, and equipment used: pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutter and pizza peel.
- Valid Driver License with a safe driving record meeting company standards; access to an insured vehicle for delivery.
- Essential skills: navigational ability to read maps, locate addresses within the designated delivery area; ability to navigate adverse terrain including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying product.
- Physical demands for delivery: carrying pizzas, sides, and beverages; driving within a designated area; walking between locations; climbing stairs if required; occasional lifting of up to 60 pounds.
- Other requirements: ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; proficient use of computers and order entry devices.
