The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Foreman to join our field leadership team. This role is critical to ensuring projects are built to New Star’s exacting standards, on time, and on budget. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in dynamic environments, understands high-end construction practices, and can effectively manage field crews while collaborating with project managers and superintendents. This is a full-time, onsite position where you will be overseeing and leading construction projects near Park City, Utah and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day on-site operations, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence
- Supervise and coordinate trades, subcontractors, and laborers to achieve project goals
- Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and quality standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site in compliance with OSHA and company policies
- Review and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
- Provide direction and training to field staff, fostering a culture of craftsmanship and accountability
- Work closely with project managers and superintendents to report progress, resolve challenges, and meet deadlines
- Assist with site layout, material deliveries, and equipment coordination
- Serve as a key point of contact for subcontractors, vendors, and clients on-site
- Proactively identify potential risks or delays and communicate solutions
Education & Experience
- Direct foreman experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or a degree in construction-related fields preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in high-end residential, multifamily, resort, or commercial construction
- Previous supervisory or lead role experience required
- Strong knowledge of construction techniques, building codes, and safety regulations
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
Qualifications
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate field teams
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction documents
- Comfortable using tablets, smartphones, and construction management software (Procore experience a plus)
- Proven ability to maintain a safe, organized, and productive worksite
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and on active construction sites
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and working at heights
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, kneeling, and bending
- Ability to wear and use all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Must have reliable transportation to travel between job sites

As a Civil Construction Foreman specializing in Site or Utility work, you will oversee the execution of underground utility projects while ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications. Coastal Gunite Construction Company, founded in 1983, performs infrastructure rehabilitation work in the Eastern United States. We are hiring an experienced Construction Foreman to join our team in the Hampton Roads area!
Job Summary
This position requires knowledge in the general construction, concrete, structural steel and/or concrete repair work and the supervision of people. The Foreman will be able to plan and run the day-to-day operations on the jobsite, manage the crew, ensure the safety and compliance of the site, resolve on-site issues and emergencies, and coordinate closely with project management to ensure a successful project.
Travel is minimal.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the construction operation; creates daily job reports.
- Responsible for the complete construction supervision and timeliness of the jobsite from start to finish
- Coordinate with different crafts, company departments, or other contractors to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support project activities and project schedule
- Ensure timecards are completed accurately, reflecting hours worked and tasks worked on
- Inspect all work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Regularly inspect work for quality and timeliness.
- Keep Project Engineer/Project Manager informed as to changing conditions in the field, so that such changes may be covered by contract change orders.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area. Make sure tools and equipment are placed in their proper storage area at the end of each day and the project site is secured.
- Ensure job safety requirements are understood and implemented by all project personnel and trade contractors. Continually strives for zero injuries on all projects.

Qualifications
- 4+ years of construction experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Heavy Civil, Marine, Structural Steel and/or Concrete Repair experience a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership capability.

- Effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of construction techniques, equipment operation and maintenance requirements.
- Knowledge of construction site safety protocols and proven ability to enforce project safety programs.
- Bilingual / Spanish skills a plus.
- Valid Driver’s License.
