Population Health Data Analysis & Management
  • Extract, analyze, and interpret clinical, claims, and administrative data to support population health programs, contract performance, and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and manage scalable data pipelines and automated workflows for ingestion, transformation, validation, and reporting.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on utilization metrics such as ED visits, inpatient admissions, and out-of-network care to identify improvement opportunities.

Compensation and Benefits:

The annualized anticipated base annual salary for this Population Health Analyst ranges from $75,000 to $95,000. Additionally, this position offers an opportunity for annual bonus, and other benefits.

Other benefits offered include a 401K retirement savings plan, paid time off (vacation/personal days, holidays, and sick time), and health benefits (medical, prescription drug, dental and vision insurance).

Part-Time Public Health Data Analyst

Location: Bronx, NY

New York Common Pantry is one of the city's largest hunger relief organizations, providing food assistance, case management services, senior food provision, nutrition education, and hygiene services. We are a dynamic, mission-driven organization experiencing rapid growth and expansion.

NYCP is a poverty-fighting organization that reduces hunger and promotes dignity, health, and self-sufficiency by using a holistic approach to reach over 122,000 distinct people -- over 729,000 visitors each year. Last year, we served over 11 million meals. Through an array of programs that we offer, we look to establish long-term stability for those we serve.

NYCP is seeking a Part-Time Public Health Data Analyst to join our Live Healthy! team. The Part-Time Public Health Data Analyst will work closely with the Director of Nutrition, providing oversight and quality assurance of the Live Healthy! data; creating effective tools for both gathering and organizing the data; providing accurate data analysis; collaborating with the Program Director on reporting documents; and the daily function and coordination of NY Common Pantry's office/administrative systems; Performing in-depth statistical analysis with presentation of findings; Supporting data interns with semester placements and project development. As a part of the NYCP Bronx office, the Part-Time Public Health Data Analyst will support the Live Healthy! Program and NYCP as a whole to assess the impact and effectiveness of nutrition education programming. A strong emphasis is placed on providing evaluation and quality assurance of the SNAP-Ed program to show its effectiveness and efficacy.

The Part-Time Public Health Data Analyst will report to the Director of Nutrition and work on-site at 788 Southern Boulevard, Bronx, NY 10455. This is a non-exempt, part-time position, up to 28 hours per week.

Please note that this is a grant-funded position with funding anticipated up to September 30th, 2026. Continuation of this position is dependent on contract renewal.

Responsibilities:

  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
  • Work closely with management to complete program reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual reports).
  • Manage and oversee data interns from stakeholder institutions for community nutrition rotations, as needed.
  • Implement and create processes that improve survey data processing and significantly reduce and/or eliminate manual data entry.
  • Develop complex data systems and procedures that connect different data sources using Visual Basic and Power Queries in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft SQL in Access that streamline data processing.
  • Design and implement efficient and effective procedures for data management and analysis with attention to all technical aspects.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to team members and staff.
  • Analyze and interpret data, both from quantitative and qualitative analyses, using accepted statistical and qualitative research methods.
  • Perform independent research to identify and include new demographic, health, and food systems data sources for needs evaluations and comparative analysis.
  • Present findings from survey data to management and the team, and collaborate with staff to improve survey tools and reporting processes.
  • Participate in leadership meetings with the Manager and Program Director to help develop a future vision and objectives for the Live Healthy! program, take on leadership roles in project planning, troubleshooting, and implementation of new strategies and initiatives.
  • Use mapping software such as ArcGIS to evaluate needs and visualize program results.
  • Explore and implement new and innovative ways and technology to evaluate program objectives and present program successes and outcomes.
  • Examine large-scale and long-term datasets to evaluate overall program impact and reach.
  • Support other Food Program departments with data analysis efforts.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Information Systems, with demonstrated application of skills in a health-related context.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
  • Commitment to helping the communities in need and NYCP's work and mission.
  • Comfortable working with diverse populations.
  • Interest in food and nutrition, public health, community advocacy, and/or equity work.
  • Analytical skills in collecting, organizing, and interpreting large volumes of data, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail throughout the process.
  • Experience with databases (Unicentric) and Proficiency in Microsoft SQL, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, Stata).
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
  • Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Punctual and reliable; Honest and trustworthy; Respectful and diplomatic; flexible and proactive; and demonstrate a solid work ethic.
  • Multi-task and work in a highly trafficked area.

The Data Analyst will use a data-driven approach to support Quality and Performance Improvement program activities and guide population health and value-based initiatives in Ambulatory Care.

This position collaborates with other stakeholders to gather data, run analytic reports, and contribute to the analysis and interpretation of results.   • Manage daily, weekly, and monthly data-management tasks.
  • Run dashboards, reports, and data analysis using data extracts from a range of sources.

  • Support special quality improvement projects in Population Health and Ambulatory Care services and take ownership for agreed project activities.
  • Play an important role on the Population Health cross-functional team, helping to develop recommendations for leadership.
  • Develop presentations, diagrams, and flowcharts for clinical staff to follow.
  • Support the EPIC electronic medical record development and implementation.
  • Associate's degree required, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2 year's experience in healthcare quality settings with data or statistical analysis, data manipulation, and reporting is preferred.
  • Candidates must have excellent advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, and be proficient at vlookup, pivot tables and formulas.

**The selected candidate will** :
+ Take effective steps to ensure that workplace conditions comply with applicable federal and state **Occupational Safety and Health** standard provisions of any labor agreement, ensuring that all required records are prepared and maintained.
+ Participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections and in any procedures that may follow a citation.

+ Reports on injuries and fatalities.
+ Conducts safe work procedures training courses.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ This position will support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Air Traffic Organization (ATO), Western Service Area (WSA) Environmental, Occupational Safety & Health (EOSH) Program and assist the District Safety and Environmental Compliance Managers (SECMs) for the Los Angeles (LAX) District.
+ The candidate will support the customer's Asbestos, Lead, Environmental Compliance, OSH Compliance, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Safety Training, Drinking Water, Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), and Pandemic programs.
+ The candidate will participate in EOSH investigations related to potential accidental releases, mishaps, and employee complaints, as requested by the Safety & Environmental Compliance Manager (SECM).
**Travel estimate up to 50%**
**Must be able to work onsite in Palmdale, CA.**
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Working knowledge and proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office applications to include MS Word, MS Excel, MS Office and MS PowerPoint.
+ The position requires the candidate to travel approximately 25% - 50% in support of Los Angeles (LAX) District.
+ Ability to obtain and/or maintain Public Trust Security clearance.
+ Bachelors degree with 4+ years of relevant work experience OR Masters with 2+ years of relevant work experience. Additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted/considered in lieu of degree.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), **OR** Associated Safety Professional is highly desired.
+ Certified in any of the following areas is a plus: Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) Asbestos Contractor/ Supervisor; AHERA Asbestos Building Inspector; Certified Lead Professional; Lead Inspector/ Risk Assessor; and Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER).
+ Able to be fit-tested and wear respirator, and be enrolled in Respiratory Protection Program (if hired).
+ Able to meet all requirements necessary to climb structures and oversee Fall Protection Program.
+ Confined Space assessment experience, program administration experience; Forklift Operator, Forklift Instructor; Aerial Lift Operator, and Aerial Lift Instructor Experience, are desired.
+ Highly developed presentation skills, comfortable conducting training classes, self-motivated and proactive team player, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
