• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program
• Current Basic Life Support certification required
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required

• Participates in tasks related to infection control, safety and quality assurance.

Job Summary and Qualifications Under general supervision initiates, assesses, and evaluates all forms of respiratory therapy including bronchodilators, chest physical therapy, oxygen therapy, and non-invasive and invasive ventilator care. - Verifies and signs all new orders for respiratory care. Assures that all physiciansorders coincide with current departmental policy.
- Responsible for the recognition, interpretation, and recording of signs andsymptoms of respiratory dysfunction and medication side effects,particularly those that require notification of a physician.
- Responsible for the initiation and maintenance of cardiopulmonaryresuscitation and other life-support procedures. Ensures adequate airwaymanagement and assist with intubation

- Education: Graduate of an AMA approved school of Respiratory Care
- Special Qualifications: Must hold full or temporary license from the State of Texas as a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner and certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care. Demonstrated current clinical competence, as outlined in the appropriate Orientation Checklist, maintains competency on a consistent basis, as evidenced by completion of the Annual Skills Checklist, able to deal with stressful situations and able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to interact well with patients and peers. Possesses knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate for meeting the age-specific needs of the patients assigned to the Respiratory Care Department, including:
