**Position Overview**
Kiewit Building Group is looking for an Estimator that can assist the estimating team with various estimates more than $30 million with a focus on medical and healthcare related project types. This role supports the development of accurate and competitive estimates for healthcare construction projects, including hospitals, clinics and medical office buildings. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in estimating and is eager to grow within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
**District Overview**
Kiewit Building Group specializes in vertical construction, we build hospitals and medical related buildings and renovations, science and technology facilities, office buildings, industrial complexes, education and sports facilities, hotels, transportation terminals, government buildings, retail and special-use facilities, and extensive interior construction with tenant improvements. Our capabilities include all facets of construction and engineering including general contracting, construction management, design-build, design-assist and turn-key project development.
**Location**
Omaha NE. If you are not local, relocation to the area is required. Assistance will be provided.
**Responsibilities**
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for healthcare projects during conceptual, schematic, and design development phases.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other project documents to develop accurate scopes of work.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing to support bid and estimate development.
- Assist in the preparation of bid packages, proposals, and presentations.
- Participate in value engineering and constructability reviews.
- Maintain historical cost data and stay current on market trends and pricing.
- Support the development of budgets, GMPs, and cost models under the guidance of Estimating Managers
- Assist in the development of the preconstruction plan, staffing and schedule.
- Work with the preconstruction lead and operations to help develop logistics and project approach to ensure the estimate is informed and complete.
- Reviewing sub and vendor proposals to ensure they align with assumptions, project documents and Owner requirements ensuring accurate and complete cost estimates.
- Reviews all bid and contract documents and coordinate home office legal department reviews
- Conduct site investigation prior to forming a plan of operations to identify any concerns, or conditions present that could impact the project risk profile
- Stay abreast of trends and developments, such as new equipment, methods and procedures that are developing in the industry.
- Familiarity with healthcare building systems, codes, and compliance requirements.
- Become proficient in Kiewit's proprietary estimating program, "InEight Estimate".
- Provide leadership and strategy in subcontractor and vendor selection process
- Prepare special engineering studies or reports required by certain bid items or conditions.
- Consult with owners on various problems discovered during bid preparation, design, rates, schedules, etc.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or construction related fields preferred.
- 3+ years' related preconstruction or estimating experience, preferably with exposure to healthcare construction.
- Exceptionally strong attention to detail, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Work, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- LEED knowledge or certification.
- Experience with CMAR, Design-Build, or IPD delivery methods preferred but not required.
- Exposure to BIM/VDC tools and processes

The role requires an experienced leader with a background in perioperative services management, from a large academic center or a tertiary care center. The candidate has strong analytical skills, which involve overseeing a team of 200 staff members and four departments (Main OR, CV, GI, and Sterile Processing).
The facility boasts 16 ORs (12 general, 4 cardiovascular, 5 GI rooms), a sterile processing unit, 2 hybrid interventional rooms, a neuro-interventional suit, and latest equipment for cardiovascular and neurosurgical/spine procedures, including 4 top-of-the-line robots. CUMC - Bergan Mercy is a Level 1 Trauma Center and a Comprehensive Stroke Center with two EDs serving the lower midwest including West IA and Nebraska. We specialize in open and structural heart procedures, complex vascular, neurosurgical and spine surgery, and cancer. **A Brief Overview**

+ Assists in the development and implementation of new procedures.

+ Assists physicians in performing specific diagnostic Nuclear Medicine exams.
+ Calculate and administer diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals to patients (IV or oral) and maintain accurate records of radionuclides (patient dose, receipt and disposal of materials).
+ Accurately operates nuclear medicine equipment and related computer data systems.
+ Assists in radionuclide Rx procedures and performs the necessary monitoring for these procedures.
+ Assists with brachytherapy implant procedures and leaks; performs necessary inventory, testing and monitoring procedures.
