**Job Summary**
Perform work of a highly skilled and complex nature, under the direction of a journeyman or supervisor, related to the analysis, detection and repair of defects in interlock and control systems, electronic devices, including solid state equipment, computers, solid state communication systems, and instruments, such as: meters, gauges, process control valves, electrohydraulic turbine control, Boiler Control Systems, Burner management systems, fuel handling system (gas & coal), water quality instrumentation, CEMS, EPA discharge monitoring equipment and calculations related to the operating efficiency of power plant equipment. Assist in engineering studies and calculations related to the operating efficiency of power plant equipment, and assist engineers in performing other technical services. Actively participates in continuous improvement activities.
**Job Description**
AEP is seeking talented and motivated Instrument Technician 3rd Year - Instrument Technician to become an integral part of our transmission engineering team.
**RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT : Successful candidate will live within 1 hour drive of Flint Creek Power Plant under normal driving conditions**
**What You'll Do:**
+ The following will be performed under the direction of a journeyman industrial electrician or supervisor:
+ Locate, inspect, troubleshoot and repair defects in control systems involving electrical, solid state electronic, mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic components, tubing, (or plant specific systems) using elementary or wiring diagrams, schematic diagrams or control diagrams, along with knowledge of process control.
+ Install, calibrate, and maintain control loops.
+ Perform necessary functions to place in or remove from service, instrument and control systems undergoing study, tests or adjustments.
+ Demonstrate basic working knowledge of PLC and DCS Control Systems, using force contacts, and locating hardware I/O addresses with assistance. Learn basic programming logic.
+ Assist others in preparing necessary data for engineering procedures, specifications, bills of material and requisitions for the installation, maintenance and operation of equipment.
+ Setting up and connect test devices used in tests on equipment such as boilers, turbines, generators, and other power plant equipment. Assist others in the performance of such tests.
+ Operate and maintain equipment necessary to obtain temperatures, levels, pressures, and flows. Learn to analyze data and calculate test results. Learn to apply general knowledge of flows using available handbooks, manuals and associated reference material.
+ Compile and record data relating to tests and investigations. Learn to prepare graphs, curves and reports.
+ Maintain analyzing equipment to ensure accurate information for plant operations.
+ Demonstrate working knowledge of industrial processes and systems.

**Position Purpose:**
Veolia is seeking a Water Treatment Process and Industrial Instrumentation Technician (union position, on-call) to support the operation, maintenance, and optimization of water treatment plant and distribution system equipment. This role focuses on the installation, calibration, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial instrumentation and control systems from manufacturers such as Siemens, Hach, and Endress+Hauser, Allen Bradley as well as the operation and monitoring of water quality instrumentation, analyzers, and SCADA/PLC systems. **Primary Duties/Responsibilities:**

**Qualifications**
**Education/Experience/Background:**
+ High School Diploma/GED is required.
+ Electrical experience is required.

Our Team
Our team is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of ~20,000 instruments throughout the Pine Bend Refinery in Rosemount, MN.
What You Will Do
Be part of a team performing maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, installations, calibrations and repairs on approximately 20,000 process control instruments at the refinery. This equipment includes flow, pressure, temperature and level transmitters, transducers, controllers, switches, solenoids, relays, control valves, regulators, actuators and positioners.
Working with measurement technologies in radar, nuclear, electronic and pneumatic devices.
Review and understand written procedures, drawings, proper tools and equipment manuals to support completing quality repairs in a safe manner.
Team members work as a team and individually in a collaborative environment using technology and skills to provide safe and reliable asset availability.
Work is performed outside in all types of weather and climbing ladders, stairways, vessels, towers and pipe racks is required work. This role is subject to a pre-hire physical abilities test.

The E&I Mechanic will utilize strong knowledge of components and systems to maintain and repair electrical equipment including, but not limited to conveyors, pumps, motors, blowers, fans, compressors, etc. All duties must be performed in compliance with the established company, department, and safety policies and procedures. You will execute daily work assignments and ensure timely completion of all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Equipment (including but not limited to):

Your key responsibilities will be/what you’ll do:

RESPONSIBILITIES: Independently operates equipment to perform a variety of complex sonographic examinations ranging from routine to highly specialized. Reviews requisitions to assure that the patient history and anatomical area of interest is consistent with the exam(s) requested. The spectrum of examinations performed includes abdomen for tumors, cysts, abscesses, hematomas, inflammatory lesions, and the size and location of organs. Evaluations of the abdominal aorta for aneurysm and/or dissection, and chest exams for pleural effusions will also be performed. Neck, carotid artery, leg vein, and artery examinations will also be conducted. Assist radiologist during invasive procedures and perform all types of gynecological ultrasound exams. Perform quantitative Doppler measurements to determine blood flow profiles when indicated.
