About the Role

Your work will provide a critical contribution by delivering reporting, analysis and insights derived from a variety of data sources to partners across the Flourish business. You will work in an agile manner to deliver meaningful value to your internal customers and be responsible for managing your own time and workstream. You will architect and develop data transformation pipelines as well as analytics, insights and dashboards. You have a strong grasp of best practices for data warehousing and Business Intelligence without getting caught up with orthodoxy.

Principal Responsibilities

• Partner with all Flourish product development teams to ensure that data essential to measuring our business and product is captured effectively and efficiently.
• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain analytics pipelines that build our data warehouse and power dashboards and analyses
• Work in a BI tool (e.g. Tableau) to build, automate and maintain key outputs from this data, including dashboards, reports and interactive data sets
• Perform ad hoc research and analysis using data in both a warehouse database and in a BI tool
• Write and maintain documentation covering the key areas that you work in
• Teach technical and non-technical users how to work with various Flourish data resources
• Work directly with internal customers across Flourish, taking ownership of determining root problems, devising solutions, and managing communications along the way
• Work independently and collaboratively with the team on highly visible cross-divisional projects
• Drive continuous improvement and efficiencies as related to our data warehouse and track effectiveness of our tools

• Bachelor's Degree in science, technology, engineering or math or equivalent experience
• 5+ years working in business intelligence, analytics, data engineering, data science or similar related technical work
• Due to the nature of this position, as part of the background check process, candidates must be able to pass a fingerprint background check to qualify as a fingerprinted person under FINRA. For roles requiring registration, additional regulatory screenings may apply, including a review of Form U5 disclosures and other relevant licensing information.

• Strong skills with SQL and data transformation frameworks (e.g. DBT, SQLmesh)
• Experience working with BI visualization tools (e.g. QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI, Looker)
• Medium to Strong skill with Python and Python-related ecosystem for data engineering (e.g. Pandas, Polars, NumPy, etc.)
• General experience working with a major cloud provider (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Ability to set and stick to deadlines, allowing for shifting priorities while engaged in concurrent workstreams
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, exercising ownership of projects from start to finish
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential
• Strong presentation skills are essential, including: group speaking and data visualization
• Proven history of assembling and presenting analysis to non-data specialist audiences
• Experience building automated dashboards, reports and analyses, from development to production
• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Math, Physics or Engineering

Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and detail them in User Stories.
• Identify gaps in business processes and process inefficiencies and track them for solutions.
• Assist in project scoping, documentation, and stakeholder communication.

Data Analysis
• Collect, clean, and interpret large datasets from legacy data sources.
• Build and maintain a data dictionary and data traceability from legacy sources to other applications.
• Develop and maintain data models and build requirements for converting into APIs/microservices.

Collaboration & Communication
• Work closely with Product Owner & technical teams to share requirements and address gaps via JIRA.
• Work with operations teams to gather requirements and maintain a traceability of the data elements.

Qualifications:
• 2–5 years of experience in a similar Business Analyst and/or Data Analyst role.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in SQL, Excel.
• Experience with statistical tools (e.g., R, Python, SAS) is a plus.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Working experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies is a must.

Preferred Skills:
• Experience working in the Life Insurance Industry.
• Experience in detailing user stories in JIRA.
• Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes is a plus.
• Experience with supporting testing tasks(QA and UAT)

Data Analyst / Business Analyst

Position Overview:
As a member of the IT group, the contract Business Systems Analyst will assume responsibility for support of ongoing projects within firm's various Marketing and Client Services groups. This is a highly visible position that will have direct exposure to many business groups. S/he will provide daily data analysis, application support, as well as, project support for existing and new projects.
