Job Description

As a Kaizen Specialist, you will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers across Kubota North America entities, enhancing safety, quality, efficiency, and overall performance. This role involves close collaboration with suppliers to implement KPS (Lean) methodologies, support Kaizen events, and foster sustainable improvements. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of KPS principles, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to cultivate collaborative relationships with suppliers. Additionally, you will play a key role in educating buyers on KPS and manufacturing processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cultivate a Cooperative Culture: Foster a culture of trust and continuous improvement within the team and with suppliers.
  • Training Facilitation: Conduct training sessions for suppliers on Kaizen methodologies and tools to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data related to key components to evaluate the effectiveness of improvement initiatives.
  • Process Assessment: Collaborate with suppliers to assess current processes, identifying inefficiencies, waste, and opportunities for improvement using Kaizen tools like value stream mapping.
  • Strategy Implementation: Assist in the generation and implementation of improvement strategies derived from Kaizen analyses, serving as a liaison between suppliers and internal teams.
  • Project Monitoring: Track the advancement of Kaizen projects, conducting regular follow-up sessions to ensure accountability and progress.
  • Process Optimization: Apply Kaizen tools to drive process optimization and enhance supplier performance.
  • Presentation Support: Assist suppliers in preparing final presentations to showcase their improvement activities and outcomes.
  • Gemba Facilitation: Facilitate and support Gemba at suppliers to engage employees in identifying inefficiencies and collaboratively developing solutions for their work processes.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams, providing support and sharing information as needed.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain comprehensive documentation of supplier improvement projects to ensure transparency and knowledge sharing.
  • Best Practices Sharing: Organize and facilitate regular meetings and workshops with suppliers to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.
  • Internal Education: Provide periodic education for buyers in the areas of KPS and processes.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in supply chain management, manufacturing, or process improvement roles.
  • Strong understanding of Lean principles and experience facilitating Kaizen events.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to supplier locations.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Certification in KPS, Lean, Six Sigma, or related continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of Kubota products.

Responsibilities

This position will facilitate the effective implementation and introduction of development proposals for safety, quality and efficiency (Kaizen Ideas) arising from the operators working in Production. The incumbent will operate, develop, and stimulate the related process and promote the culture of continuous improvement.

  • Collects and organizes employee ideas and facilitates effective implementation
  • Works independently and also helps coordinate installation of signage, floor tape, etc.
  • Facilitates the formulation of ideas and embraces and supports implementation
  • Proactively seek solutions to specific errors and deficiencies in production with the involvement of those working in the field
  • Ensure the trainings related to the implemented Kaizen developments are coordinated
  • The Kaizen Operator's work catalyzes continuous improvement
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Use of common hand tools; screw drivers, drill, level, tape measure
  • Entry Level knowledge of Microsoft Office along with Outlook/email preferred
  • Strong focus on safety and quality
  • Must be a self-starter and maintains a positive attitude
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrating teamwork
  • Good problem-solving abilities and result-oriented
  • Lead by examples at all times (no safety violations, use proper PPE, show up to work on time)
  • Must follow and abide by Company policies
  • Lean, 5S, Kaizen experience preferred
  • Must be able to walk, bend, pull and push without assistance (example: brace, cane)
  • Capable of walking and standing for up to 8 hours per day
  • Constant exposure to indoor manufacturing environment
  • Frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to manipulate, handle or feel material
  • Constant use of hand/fingers to grasp, pinch, pull, feel or handle and manipulate parts and tools
  • Constant requirement of specific vision abilities including close vision, distant vision, depth perception

This role is pivotal in shaping and executing Schneider Electrics continuous improvement strategy across our global network of plants and distribution centers. What will you do?
  • Lead Strategic Direction:

    • Define and drive the vision for lean extended value streams globally.
    • Engage business leaders to realize end-to-end lean value streams.
    • Develop and deploy global standards for Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Extended Value Stream Mapping (EVSM).
  • Execute Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen Initiatives:

    • Build and manage a global program for VSM and EVSM deployment.
    • Ensure accurate application of mapping techniques to define current and future states.
    • Oversee a global kaizen portfolio, maintaining the highest standards based on Shingijutsu methodology.
  • Inspire and Build Community:

    • Coach and mentor lean experts and business leaders.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through hands-on learning and experimentation.
    • Promote kaizen behaviors that prioritize progress, creativity, and practical solutions.
  • Monitor and Measure Performance:

    • Track effectiveness of VSM and kaizen initiatives at all levels.
    • Focus on key metrics: Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (inventory, productivity).

You will report directly to theGlobal Supply Chain Performance VP .

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or MBA.
  • 15+ years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or related fields.
  • Proven hands-on mastery of lean principles and performance improvement.
  • Experience in both operational leadership and lean expert roles.
  • Global exposure across multiple products, processes, and companies.
  • Strong program and portfolio management skills.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and influence capabilities.
  • Analytical, clear-thinking, and outcome-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in digital tools and fluent in English (additional languages a plus).
