Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the mechanical aspects of the projects including facilities preparation, equipment design and equipment installation.
- Work on engineering solutions to improve equipment reliability and safety, lower operation and maintenance costs, and improve ergonomics.
- Engineer solutions that comply with ISO 14001 and EHS initiatives.

What You Will Do
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Supervisor, you will initiate, support, and lead Production Team activities targeting quality continuous improvement and assurance. Specific responsibilities include:
• Promote an atmosphere of continuous process and employee improvement.
• Support or drive Continuous Improvement activities.
• Enforce quality standards in all facets of the assigned areas.
• Assist with the evaluation, proper identification, and disposition of all non-conforming items and materials.
• Follow all significant product, document and process changes which affect quality.
• Work with departmental supervision in developing and maintaining a trained work force.
• Support Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, and Research and Development in the Design, Introduction, Inspection and Maintenance of new and existing equipment.
• Define, troubleshoot and assist in measurement and resolution of daily production quality problems.
• Must have an uncompromising attitude towards Quality.
• Maintain manufacturing quality performance metrics and/or quality records.
• Manage Quality aspects of Stop Shipment process, from initiation to closure.
• Take active role in Stop Ship investigations and Stop Ship rework tracking/coordination.
• Take active role in analysis of scrap and yield opportunities.
• Perform work center, finished product and process audits, as required.
• Create Process Maps.
• Initiate CAPA Determinations.
• Report safety near misses and incidents whenever applicable.
• Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.
Education & Experience Requirements
• Technician III: Vocational training and 5+ years of experience in a relevant work environment is required; or High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years experience in a relevant work environment.
• Technician IV: Vocational training and 8+ years of experience in a relevant work environment is required; or High School Diploma/GED with 10+ years’ experience in a relevant work environment.
• Ability to work effectively and cross-functionally on the shop floor on a regular basis.
• Demonstrated computer skills in MS Office and Windows operating system.
• Ability to develop and maintain records and to follow projects through to conclusion.
• Basic understanding and knowledge of manufacturing engineering and quality standards.
• Ability to use measurement and inspection tools such as Calipers, Micrometers, Pins, Gauges, Protractor, and Scale.
• Capable of frequent standing and walking and lifting up to 60 lbs

Lincoln Electric has an available opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer. We are seeking a reliable, experienced and motivated individual to join our team at our Mentor, OH facility. The successful candidate will provide collaborative communication, applying knowledge and experience toward innovating and improving our Mentor Consumables. This role involves working with cross functional teams using innovative and creative problem solving skills to meet project goals.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the mechanical aspects of the projects including facilities preparation, equipment design and equipment installation.
- Work on engineering solutions to improve equipment reliability and safety, lower operation and maintenance costs, and improve ergonomics.
- Engineer solutions that comply with ISO 14001 and EHS initiatives.
- Interface with all engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, and R&D departments to ensure accuracy of project design target details. Provide technical support to Production and Maintenance departments.
- Knowledge of wire manufacturing and/or wire drawing is a plus.
- Experience working & interacting with contractors, consultants, and vendors/suppliers as part of prototyping and development of process improvements.
- Experience or familiar with Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing concepts is a plus. Knowledge of Solid Edge, and MS Office software is a must.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering. Other engineering disciplines with appropriate experience would be considered.

- Apply practical process knowledge with hands on approach to production troubleshooting, installations, and testing.
- Able to create and modify mechanical drawings utilizing established standards utilizing SolidEdge CAD software. Training can be provided as needed.
- Develop mechanical improvements and tooling design for existing machinery soliciting observations from Operations, Maintenance and Engineering.
- Investigate product warranty reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Develop and recommend equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analysis and proposals for integrating machinery, equipment, and tooling into the manufacturing process.
- Monitor and evaluate production parameters including but not limited to scrap generation, identify ways to reduce scrap and ensure product quality standards.

EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND PROFICIENCIES:
Needed:
