Job Summary: As a Bartender / Mixologist, you will be the creative force behind our bar, taking food and beverage orders from guests and servers, and expertly preparing and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Your role is integral to delivering a memorable guest experience, and you will also assist with maintaining bar supplies, record keeping, cash handling, and processing credit transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Beverage Service: Promptly take and accurately process food and beverage orders from guests and servers, preparing a wide range of drinksfrom classic cocktails to innovative mixology creations.
- Guest Engagement: Provide expert recommendations on drink recipes and daily specials, answering questions about ingredients, techniques, and pricing to enhance the guest experience.
- Bar Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including polishing glassware, restocking supplies, and ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
- Cash Handling: Process cash and credit transactions accurately, prepare guest checks, and ensure proper record keeping in compliance with hotel procedures.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and assist with inventory control of bar supplies, ensuring the bar remains fully stocked for uninterrupted service.
- Safety & Sanitation: Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe work environment and high service standards.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow team members to ensure seamless operations and a unified approach to exceptional guest service.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Preferably one year of bartending or mixology experience.
- Certification: Food/Beverage Service Worker Permit where applicable.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of drink recipes, mixology techniques, and wine merchandising specials.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills; must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Skills: Familiarity with bar terminology and drink service protocols; proven ability to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
- Legal Requirements: Must meet the minimum age requirement as defined by jurisdiction.
Physical & Safety Requirements:
- Stamina: Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods during the shift.
- Strength: Capable of lifting and carrying items up to 30 pounds as needed.
- Environment: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with repetitive motions and occasional high-volume service periods.
