Job Description

The Energy Analyst supports the Petroleum Engineering team by collecting, organizing, and analyzing data related to oil and gas production and economics. This role involves acquiring and organizing evaluation input data, using petroleum engineering software to perform basic economic analyses and communicating results. The Energy Analyst collaborates closely with senior staff to lend technical support, assist in the set-up and preparation of economic evaluations, and ensure accurate documentation and filing of data.

How You'll Spend Your Time
  • You will collect and organize client evaluation data from various sources to support oil and gas asset analysis.
  • You will input data into petroleum engineering software and run economic models as directed by senior staff.
  • You will respond to report requests and assist in communicating economic analysis results to stakeholders.
  • You will perform quality checks on data and ensure accurate, secure submission to internal systems.
  • You will provide basic technical support to internal teams using available resources and knowledge.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally demonstrated by the completion of a Bachelors degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science or related subject AND 3+ years in the energy industry or related experience.

  • Working knowledge of Oil and Gas industry preferred.
  • Experience with either PHdWin or ARIES, preferably both, is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple assignments at the same time.
  • Comprehensive PC skills, including Excel and Word. The applicant would be expected to successfully complete Microsoft Access software training classes and to advance their knowledge through regular self-study.
  • Proven ability to acquire new knowledge and skills quickly, adapting to evolving best practices and processes to enhance performance and accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of and ability and willingness to learn oil and gas reserve evaluation software, for example ARIES or PHDWin. The applicant would be expected to successfully complete software training classes and to advance their knowledge of the software through regular self-study.
  • Familiarity with and ability to attain proficiency with commercial industry databases such as IHS or Enverus.
  • Commitment to data quality and the effective use of internal reports, dashboards and other data resources.
  • Must be able to take direction and work with minimal direct supervision.

What Youll Do
  • Analyze data to find equipment malfunctions and monitoring problems of energy products
  • Read and evaluate the financial performance guarantees in Teslas portfolio

Job Summary

W e are seeking a Energy Analyst - Renewable Gas to support the Energy Manager in regulatory reporting, operational data tracking, billing, and renewable energy credit generation. This role is critical for ensuring ongoing compliance with state and federal renewable fuel programs during a maternity leave period. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of experience in commodity operations, environmental compliance, and data accuracy. This position offers potential for long-term employment based on performance and organizational fit.

Job Description

  • Monitor and report Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) production and environmental credit generation (LCFS, RFS) to regulatory agencies (EPA, CARB) and internal systems.
  • Collect, track, and validate production data in coordination with Operations and Engineering teams.
  • Manage and update daily gas nominations with pipeline operators.
  • Oversee RIN (Renewable Identification Number) generation and transfers with third-party consultants.
  • Support federal and state regulatory registrations, audits, and engineering reviews by providing invoices, reports, and operational data.
  • Prepare and submit petitions for new fuel pathways under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) and Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) programs.
  • Distribute royalty statements to source customers.
  • Validate RNG sales statements and partner invoices for accuracy.
  • Process vendor payments and manage purchase requisitions related to compliance and consulting services.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Finance to support accurate and timely transactions.
Skills Required
  • Ideal candidates will have experience in one or more of the following areas: Accounting, financial reporting, or audit, Commodity production or gas/electricity scheduling, Environmental markets and regulatory filings (EPA, CARB, IRS), Billing, accounts payable (AP), or accounts receivable (AR), Procurement and vendor management
  • 2-5 years of experience in energy, utilities, compliance, or finance roles
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong Excel/Sheets skills and comfort handling structured operational data
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred
Additional Requirements
  • Proficient with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Drive, etc.)
  • Familiarity with energy/utility industry platforms (e.g., gas nomination portals, RIN tracking systems)

Job Description

Position Summary:

This position performs under direct to moderate supervision. In order to develop competence, they will receive training and mentoring from the Supervisor, Manager, Energy Analyst team members, Program Manager and administrative staff.

Responsibilities:

1. Successfully completes training necessary to administer the residential conservation programs.

Training includes application of residential building structure, HVAC system, insulation and duct materials and installation techniques, basic electricity and metering, and all Customer Service programs.

2. Conducts inspections and post-installation verifications for the Weatherization, Insulation, Ductwork, Window Replacement, Energy Star, and other Residential Rebate and Conservation Programs. Associate would be on site working directly with TEC Contractor to complete verifications on installed weatherization measures in homes.

Evaluates existing attic insulation, visual examinations of duct system to identify problem areas, calculates square footage of house and accessible attic. Explains requirements for Insulation Incentive program, and benefits and limitations of DuctWorks program to customers.

Schedules contractor appointments for DuctWorks, and issues Insulation Incentive Certificates. Approves any exceptions/deviations to the DuctWorks and Insulation programs, provided desired program results are achieved. For post-installation verifications, verifies that work performed in in accordance with Program Standards.

Notifies customers and/or contractors of any remaining deficiencies and corrective measures necessary, and initiates applicable customer/contractor rebates and/or incentive payments once program standards are met.

3. Markets Residential Zap Cap, Energy Planner and Renewable Energy programs to achieve Department goals.

4. Assists in projects and additional assignments as directed by Supervisor or Manager, including participating in presentations to various sized groups and participating in job-related, publically attended events (trade shows, fairs, etc.

Required: Valid High School diploma or Valid GED with a minimum of 2 years related experience in energy management and utility customer service; or a minimum of 4 years related work experience with progressively more complex assignments.

Valid drivers license and use of reliable personal vehicle necessary to perform field activities anywhere in Tampa Electric service territory.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office suite, use of laptops and wireless technologies; Above average mathematical and analytical skills to perform calculations necessary to administer and verify conservation programs; Above average oral and written communication skills; Proficient planning and organizational skills to coordinate personal, autonomous work schedule to maximize time available for field activities and meet Customer requests in a timely manner and within requirements of the Florida Public Service Commission; Ability to work independently, as well as in a self-directed team.

Preferred:

Associates degree/2 years of college education or Bachelors degree. Experience in electric utility customer service, knowledge of Customer Service programs, experience in high bill resolution and energy conservation techniques; Effectiveness in conducting presentations, maintains a contractor's license (minimum of 2 years) with a minimum of 4 years related experience in residential construction.
