In the Energy Analyst role, you will resolve issues and ensure that Tesla is meeting its contractual obligations with respect to production, payments, and refunds that affect our growing fleet, including solar energy and storage products. This role is an integral connection point between our customers and our products, ensuring optimal operations.

Tesla has an incredible amount of real-world data on solar and storage energy coming into our databases every day. The Energy Analysts primary role is to review this data and act on it. They will review reports and alerts to find problems in the field, investigate discrepancies in monitoring data, initiate repair actions when needed, and process performance guarantees to our customers. The ideal candidate has a solid grasp of reporting and data processing concepts and is naturally motivated to seek out and fix problems in a methodical way.

• Analyze data to find equipment malfunctions and monitoring problems of energy products
• Read and evaluate the financial performance guarantees in Teslas portfolio
• Create reports, presentations, and graphs to show performance, status, problem histories, etc.
• Investigate and explain discrepancies in historical data as well as energy models
• Evaluate issues at individual and portfolio installations and create and implement action plans
• Contribute to creating, developing, and implementing operating procedures / protocol

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
• Demonstrable data analysis and data interpretation skills and mathematical prowess

• Internal Collaboration Work with several internal teams and vendor partners on a day-to-day basis to design and evolve the portfolio of energy efficiency solutions for residential customers. With an understanding of each teams expertise and requirements, achieve alignment on planning, development, and implementation as it relates to residential energy efficiency strategies. Make informed, authoritative recommendations regarding the residential energy efficiency portfolio. Seek ways to improve internal processes and foster cross-functional collaboration.
• Regulatory Requirements Develop and maintain relationships with regulators, and key stakeholders involved in the regulatory process. Attend regulatory meetings as necessary, and provide support for regulatory filings and reporting requirements. Negotiate portfolio targets and funding levels with stakeholders, including regulators, local governments, customer groups, environmental organizations, and others. Stay informed of, and assess the potential impact of relevant regulatory and policy developments.
• Metrics Fully understand and track qualitative and quantitative metrics that apply to the energy efficiency portfolio. Metrics include energy savings, budgets/spending, participation, etc. Develop appropriate key performance indicators for residential programs, services, and solutions. Analyze data to find insight into trends that may inform strategies moving forward. Understand the nuances of each metric and how they influence each other.
• Industry Engagement Stay informed of industry best practices, trends, and policies by independent research, outreach, attending conferences/events, and general engagement with industry experts and stakeholders.

Schedules contractor appointments for DuctWorks, and issues Insulation Incentive Certificates. Approves any exceptions/deviations to the DuctWorks and Insulation programs, provided desired program results are achieved. For post-installation verifications, verifies that work performed in in accordance with Program Standards.

Notifies customers and/or contractors of any remaining deficiencies and corrective measures necessary, and initiates applicable customer/contractor rebates and/or incentive payments once program standards are met.
