Summary

  • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

    • Samaritan Pharmacy-Lincoln City is a community pharmacy located next to Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital. The pharmacy is open to any member of the public. The primary role of this pharmacy is to dispense community patient prescriptions. They also offer immunizations, medication management services, and discharge medications to bedside. The pharmacy is staffed by experienced pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who are dedicated to patient care.

  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

    • Current unencumbered Oregon Pharmacist Licensure required.

    • Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

    • All job offers are contingent upon the candidate passing a pre-employment/post offer drug screen.

    • SHS Pharmacy Administration - Outpatient Pharmacist (if applicable):

      • Healthcare Provider Level BLS required within three (3) months of hire.

      • Successful completion of Pharmacist Immunization Certification required within one (1) year of hire.

    • Communication - Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues. Ability to perform group presentations and listen to and understand complex information and ideas.

Long Term Care Pharmacist Responsibilities
  • Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately

  • Monitor patient medication compliance and potential over-usage patterns

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws and regulations

  • Provide patient counseling on medications, dosage, side effects, and interactions

  • Educate patients on medical device usage (e.g., glucose meters, BP monitors)

  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions as needed

  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks

  • Maintain inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals

  • Identify and resolve drug-related issues affecting patient safety


Long Term Care Pharmacist Requirements
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required

  • Active Tennessee Pharmacist license required

  • Previous long-term care and/or retail pharmacy experience preferred

  • Strong patient consultation and communication skills

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills

The annual salary range for this position is $98,000.00-$172,000.00*

*This pay range is for a 40 hours/week schedule. Weekly scheduled hours are determined individually and the ranges for different scheduled hours are prorated based on the percentage of 40 hours. E.g., the range for a 36 hours/week schedule, which is 90% of 40 hours, is 90% of the above range.

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications.

Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD degree, or equivalent FPGE (NABP).

Pharmacy license (by job entry date).
