The Role in Brief
Proofreader
The Proofreader is responsible for ensuring the written accuracy of all partner and corporate communications. This role identifies spelling, grammatical, and punctuation errors while ensuring formatting is accurate and in accordance with our partners' specific style guidelines.
This role may be located in Richmond, Virginia, or Washington, D.C.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly review campaigns for spelling, grammar, formatting, and school/EAB style guidelines, ensuring timely and accurate task execution leading to error-free deployments
- Review digital proofs for paper and online campaigns
- Exercise strong editorial judgment
- Act as a grammar and style resource for other internal departments
- Pivot across multiple lines of business that the proofreader team serves (Enroll360, Adult Learner Recruitment, Advancement Marketing Services, Agency, and Corporate) and serve as the team's subject matter expert for at least one line of business
- Maintain and update program documentation
- Collaborate with others on proofreading projects as needed to receive necessary documents, ask clarifying questions, provide direction, and manage workload expectations
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree: concentration in English or Journalism preferred
- 2 years of related experience

Compensation:
