What You Will Do

Education & Experience Requirements
- < i>Bachelors of Science in Engineering required.
- Qualified candidates will have 1 - 5+ years’ experience minimum depending on level. < i>Experience in manufacturing required with a solid technical background. li>Must demonstrate good judgment when evaluating quality related situations.
- Must work well with those in inspection, R&D, production, and supervision.
- Knowledge of Consumable Division products, processes, specifications and procedures is preferred.
- Willing to undergo the necessary training to obtain QA Engineer certification.

The Quality Assurance Engineer will be the subject matter expert for the validation strategy and maintain ownership of the Muskegon site Validation Master Plan.
This position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and is part of the Quality Assurance Department located in Muskegon, MI and will be an on-site role.
What you will do:
- Review and approve user requirement documentation (URS), Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) and equipment Installation Qualification (IQ), Operation Qualification (OQ), Performance Qualification (PQ), process validation (PV), cleaning validation (CV) and Computer Software Validation (CSV) protocols and/or Plans and Reports.
- Assist and approve deviation investigations, corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs), process improvements related to equipment qualification and validation activities.
- Be the subject matter expert for Change Control on launched products, managing the local Change Management Board.
- Improve and develop QMS work instructions and cross train as a backup for other QA members.
- Participate in quality walks and internal audits to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Who you are:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited University or College, preferably in a Science or Engineering discipline.
- Multiple years working experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Engineering.
- Experience in equipment qualifications, process validations, cleaning validations and computer software validations.
- Previous experience in root cause, corrective action, preventative action and process improvement.

* Monitors the quality process on the production floor.
* Investigates causes of customer complaint defects.

* Prepares activity reports, including outcomes of investigations and audits.

The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for assisting the Quality Assurance Manager in establishing, implementing, and continually improving the performance of the Quality Management System.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Interface with Sales, Materials, Engineering, Production and Customers to ensure applicable requirements and customer expectations are being fully understood and satisfied.
- Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of our customers and the Quality Management System.
- Resolve and prevent the reoccurrence of various quality issues relative to product, process, customer complaints, and quality system requirements.
- Develop and maintain project quality documentation such as supplements, records, Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), Manufacturing Procedure Specifications (MPS), etc.
- Supporting the processes of planning, organizing, and managing all project quality related activities including release of clear instructions to production and QC personnel.
- Analyzing the need for and managing correction actions for process related concerns, negative trends in business metrics, and product nonconformances using appropriate analytical tools.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of procedures within the Quality Management System.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Quality, or Industrial Engineering is preferred.
- 5-10 years related experience in manufacturing or similar field where the reading and interpretation of technical requirements was a routine task of the position.
- Experience working under an ISO-9001 certified QMS or similar Standard is required.
- Experience in supplying materials to the nuclear industry is a plus.
