Job Description

The pay band for this role is $22.00-25.00/hr. This position will be located in our Linden, NJ fulfillment center. FreshRealm is looking for a Sanitation Team Lead that will work in our Fulfillment Center to indirectly oversee a team of full-time Sanitation Associates.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide hands-on supervision over the entire sanitation process, under the direction of the Sanitation Manager

  • Organizes and distributes tasks of sanitation process to maintain the MSS

  • Makes recommendations as to what is needed, such as parts, chemicals, training, etc.

  • Helps develop, train, update, improve current SSOP

  • Follows and teaches Company Safety regulations such as LOTO, HAZCOM, PPE

  • Follows and monitors Company GMP standards for Food Manufacturing Facilities

  • Monitor the performance of all FS/ Sanitation employees that includes but is not limited to: efficiencies of the work performed; labor hours of employees; and assisting in the creation of weekly work schedules

  • With the assistance of the Sanitation Supervisor and Training Manager, write, teach, follow, access SSOP for the Department and in cases works with other departments to help in the continuous improvement of on-going improvement programs

  • Ensure compliance to the Master Sanitation Schedule

  • Enforce company rules applying them in a fair and equitable manner

  • Perform other related cleaning tasks as directed

  • Maintain all equipment in good working order

  • Maintain work area clean, and in safe condition at all times

  • Recognize and report any situation that could affect the safety of an employee

  • Oversees the removal, replacement, and dismantling of plant equipment and machinery

  • Organizes and distributes tasks, such as docks, plant roof, sanitation rooms, ingredients room, parking lots and trash hoppers

  • Monitor supplies and parts as needed, which includes daily and weekly inventories and ensure minimum and max levels of chemicals and supplies

  • Monitor and direct the 3 Tub Sink and FS Sanitation employees

  • Attend safety and quality training session

  • Responsible for reporting accidents within 24 hours to management

  • Drives a forklift, scissor lift when needed

  • Making sure that all the sanitation technicians are following the procedure in compliance with the sanitation and pest control programs

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

  • Minimum of 3 to 5-year experience in the sanitation department of a food manufacturing facility

  • Previous Sanitation Lead experience preferred

  • Previous experience with Forklift, Electric Jack, Scissor lift, COP, CIP &MSS

  • Clear and concise communicator, verbal and written

  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Must be eligible to work in the US

  • Must satisfactorily complete a background check and drug screen upon offer

  • Must be able to work weekends, overtime and holidays as required

SUMMARY

The Sanitation worker is responsible for the cleanliness of Shipping and Production areas, and maintenance of Plant grounds. Required to properly use various chemicals and cleaning agents, as well as specialized cleaning equipment following all safety policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for removing trash/recycling, debris, and obstructions ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the Plant.

What you'll do as a Sanitation Teammate:
  • Maintain a clean work environment in the offices, break rooms, DC, and Transportation areas.
  • Offices: vacuum and/or mop floors, empty trash cans, wipe surfaces, clean windows /walls, etc.
  • Restrooms: Clean & sanitize surfaces, empty trash, sweep/mop floors, replenish supplies, etc.
  • Break rooms, entrances and locker areas: Wash windows, sweep/mop floors, empty trash, clean surfaces, replenish supplies, etc.
  • DC / Transportation: Sweep/mop floors, empty trash, clean dock plates, clean racks and put away pallets.
  • Division Grounds: Pick-up / empty trash, maintain walkways, cut grass, empty cigarette cans
  • Painting inside and outside of the facility.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications you'll bring as a Warehouse Teammate:
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Able to perform accurate visual inspections.
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
