Overview:
As a Structural Analysis Engineer, you'll perform a range of system structural assessments across the full product lifecycle, including new design concepts through to in-service operations. You will also bring forward innovative analytical and experimental solutions for customer issues to meet whole product mechanical integrity requirements, including static, transient, and dynamic loads and responses.
• Perform system level structural assessments, such as Whole Engine Modeling, static and dynamic analysis
• Experimental test planning and interpretation, such as correlation of simulation to experimental data
• Facilitate teamwork between many disciplines (i.e. - manufacturing, quality, engineering, product support, etc.).
• Communicate technical and business results via reports and presentations to senior engineers both within and external to Rolls-Royce.
• Participate in technical reviews, Product Safety Reviews, Technical Life Reviews and Customer Reviews.
• Take an active role in continual improvement of our engineering methods and processes
Basic Qualifications:
• An Associate's degree in Engineering with 4+ years of experience - OR -
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2+ years of related experience - OR -
• A Masters degree in Engineering - OR -
• JD/PhD

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsibilities involve performing stress analysis for new and derivative designs of Part 23 aircraft structures and other related activities. This includes review of Engineering drawings, preparing load calculations and writing substantiation reports in collaboration with the Structural Engineering group and Structural Unit Members providing approvals.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Perform static and dynamic structural analysis of metallic and composite structures and fatigue life assessment using both manual (textbook theory) analysis and finite element analysis modeling to guide product design and design changes.
- Build Finite Element Models to determine internal loads, locate stress concentrations and perform analysis on components.
- Create stress analysis reports and/or test plans for substantiation.
- Support static/fatigue test execution and test results.
- Review drawings, specifications, service bulletins, reports, etc.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires a Bachelors degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering; a minimum of 3 years in structural analysis, test and design or equivalent education and experience is desired.
Detailed knowledge of aircraft with respect to structure, materials and processes specifications, and certification requirements is essential. Working knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 23.
Experience in Finite Element analysis and modeling is required. Familiarity with computer programming is preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in an office environment. **Job Qualifications:**
+ Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; six or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, four or more years of experience with a masters degree, or two or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an **Experienced** **Structural Analysis Engineer** **(Level 3)** to support our Customer Support Boeing Operations Center (BOC) based in **Seal Beach, CA.**
As a Structural Analysis Engineer, you will collaborate with the structures team within the Operations Center to promptly address repairs for in-service aircraft. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with other structures teams across Customer Support. The successful candidate will be skilled in developing repair solutions, coordinating with multiple internal and external teams, mentoring fellow engineers, and leading process improvements to ensure high-quality customer support.
The Customer Support Boeing Operations Center (BOC) supports all in-service Boeing commercial airplane models, including the MD-10, MD-11, 737, 747, 757, 767, 777, and 787. Team members engage with a diverse range of challenges across various airplane models and sections. This position requires flexibility in work hours, typically following a 7 days on/7 days off schedule, with shifts generally from 12 AM to 12 PM or 12 PM to 12 AM.
**Position Responsibilities**
+ Develops structural repairs on all Boeing and MD series models.
+ Leads static and fatigue analyses for primary and secondary structures.
