About the Role
We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented System Administrator to join our IT operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional ready to take the next step in managing and supporting enterprise-level systems in a hybrid environment.

Key Responsibilities
Systems Administration
- Support the configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of physical and virtual servers (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Assist with user account management, permissions, and access controls across systems and applications.
- Apply patches and updates to ensure systems remain secure and up to date.
- Monitor system performance and assist with capacity planning and reporting.
- Help implement and maintain Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and automation scripts (PowerShell preferred).
- Provide support for cloud-based platforms such as Microsoft 365 and Azure.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving issues related to email, file sharing, and collaboration tools.
- Participate in the deployment and support of new applications and services.
- Follow established security protocols and assist with system hardening and vulnerability remediation.
- Support compliance with IT policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain documentation for systems, procedures, and configurations.
- Work closely with help desk and network teams to resolve escalated issues.
- Participate in IT projects and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.
- Provide on-call support as part of a rotating schedule.
Required
- 2-3 years of experience in system administration or IT infrastructure support.
- Familiarity with Windows Server environments and virtualization platforms.
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Azure).
- Experience with scripting or automation (PowerShell preferred).
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Exposure to patch management and ticketing systems.
- Experience working in a regulated or security-conscious environment.
- Associate's degree in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, VMware) are a plus but not required.
- Work in a collaborative and supportive IT environment.

Provides IT support to Credit Union personnel. Responsible for maintenance and updates on server, database and network systems within the organization, ensuring optimal performance. Maintains hardware and software programs to support organizational objectives of secure, efficient and effective operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides expedient and courteous support to fellow employees by analyzing and solving core system (Episys and related applications) problems and providing information to support organizational objectives of secure, efficient and effective operations.
- Develops efficient methods for managing network systems to minimize downtime and increase security on network.
- Maintains and supports all Credit Union servers, physical, and virtual environments. (VMware and Hyper-V). Documents changes and maintains security on the systems.
- Maintains user accounts on networks on networks and applications. Makes certain proper permissions are established within the network operating systems.
- Assures the accuracy and performance of Episys, and other servers for the organization.
- Ensures optimal performance and timely resolution of errors or lapse in performance.
- Controls and implements new servers and related software, ensuring that software is operating on most current release versions.
- Installs hardware and software patches/updates on a regular basis to keep the Credit Union's security posture high. Identifies better approaches to implement security. Reviews and assesses network and system security architectures to ensure a practical and secure design is implemented.
- Creates scripts to automate reporting and other processes (primarily Powershell).
- Updates, modifies, and optimizes GPO's as necessary.
- Stays abreast of hardware and software developments, recommends new technologies and processes that would enhance the efficiency and security of the server system. Researches and resolves technical problems.
- Researches the feasibility of projects, enhancements, and proposals by gathering facts, contacting in-house users and outside vendors, comparing assigned objectives, and testing various options.
- Works after-hours on-call rotation as needed.
- Ensures critical backups are successful and useable. Works with Veeam on any issues.
- Maintains complete and accurate inventory of assets, support agreements, warranties, application software, and licensing agreements.
- Reviews systems technical controls, provides actionable input to improve network security and acts in fulfillment of security objectives. Ensures the integrity and availability of network systems.
- Researches, diagnoses, and resolves problems within the network infrastructure. Communicates problems and unusual situations to the Network Administrator and the AVP Information Technology in a timely fashion.
- Proactively manages vendors, communicating software and hardware problems and enhancements, and maintains oversight to ensure timely completion of project work.
- Ensures AVP Information Technology is kept fully informed of department activities and of any significant problems or concerns.
- Works on special projects which fall within other IT functions, such as network administration, applications, core systems, etc.
- Supports the IT department by assisting with daily operations as needed. Trains and educates staff on network problems, changes to topology, policy and procedure manuals.
- Meets deadlines as assigned and directed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze technology-related issues, troubleshoot, and implement technology-based solutions.
- Ability to maintain organizational & documentation required to maintain inventory systems, day-to-day processes, and procedural run-logs.
- Ability to communicate highly technical information into user-friendly terms to both users, managers, vendors, and other support staff.
- High level of organizational skills.

- Associate's degree in computer information systems or similar technology certifications required. Experience may be substituted for education.

TheLinux System Administratorshall perform system administration for the operating systems for which they have responsibility. The Contractor shall administer Windows Network in an enterprise environment along with applicable Linux servers/devices. The Windows Network is 95% virtualized with VMware as the software and Flash and Hybrid Storage Arrays. This includes but not limited to: DNS, DHCP, AD, and IIS.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform system administration for the operating systems for which they have responsibility.

Administer Windows Network in an enterprise environment along with applicable Linux servers/devices.

Track vulnerabilities and perform patching on Linux systems to be in compliance with requirements set forth by DOI/IA.

Establish file storage shares/folders with the proper ACL permissions; new and migrated.

Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

TheSystem Administrator VIwill perform system administration for Linux and Windows operating systems and VMware virtual host environments. The Systems Administrator IV will also be responsible for monitoring and supporting enterprise services including DNS, DHCP, AD and IIS.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Set up file storage with proper permissions.

Responsible for the security and administrative controls of service(s) and/or system(s).

Support Information technology on multiple computers or network devices represented within an onsite system and/or a remote site.

Monitor server application for availability, latency, and gateway queuing and maintain current knowledge of vendor upgrades and patches for both the server and client applications.
-
Perform systems management and system monitoring and upgrade of all required Microsoft and Linux based systems/servers.
-
Utilize new data storage and replication technologies to ensure that all data is managed to provide full backup(s) and Continuity of Operations and Disaster Recovery.
-
Monitor the server application, system and security logs using various tools such as Microsoft Operational Management server VMWare vSphere, Qwest Auditor and NetIQ.
-
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Associate's degree or Certificate from technical training institute required.
-
5+ years of related technical and some managerial experience in supporting Information Technology environment at the server/data center level. Support would include (but not limited to): backup and recovery of systems, patching of systems, providing Tier II/III support to lower tiers, performance tuning, hardware upgrades, operational configurations, resource optimization, etc.

Experience serving as SME for information technology projects.

Ability to support Microsoft and Linux Operating systems.

Knowledge of other Microsoft Products used to manage an enterprise operation.
