Job Description

House of How is looking for a Tools Developer to help build cutting-edge high-impact tools that streamline game development and creative workflows. Youll work across multiple tech stacks web, desktop, Python, AI-driven services, and beyond and take ownership of features that expose powerful functionality through a clean, user-friendly UI. Youll be partnering with a world-class team with access to cutting edge technology and extreme resources. We are here to go fast and change the world!

This is a mid-level role suited for a developer with solid experience building tools and pipelines, especially ones with a strong foundation in video game and user interface development. Youll collaborate with senior developers, artists, and designers to help create new video game asset creation and management tools that are fundamentally more powerful than anything available today. Many of these tools will integrate with generative AI systems and support both technical and non-technical users, so an ability to think across systems, services, and user experience is key. You can expect an iterative/prototyping environment with an emphasis on experimentation that leads to polished user experiences.

This is a 4-6 month contract position with potential for full-time employment.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with artists, designers, and engineers to understand their needs and create powerful, user-friendly solutions.
  • Integrate generative AI backends (LLMs, image generation, vector search, etc.) and other novel solutions.
  • Create responsive and maintainable UI using modern frameworks (e.g., React).
  • Participate in prototyping and experimentation, particularly around new workflows or AI-powered features.

Requirements

Compensation

Although were a relatively small-and-growing remote team, we work hard to offer competitive rates regardless of location. The base pay ranges for this role in Washington state and California, enumerated by rank, are as follows:

What You'll Do

As a Buyer you will be owning and driving all facets of product assortment, financial planning, and vendor partnerships of the category with strong collaboration with their integrated cross-functional team.

  • Relationships
    • Develop strong vendor partnerships.
    • Partner with suppliers on product development, as well as the Global Sourcing department in private brand, product label development, as needed.
    • Responsible for program management of co-op, vendor allowances, and promotional strategies.
    • Negotiate all pricing, vendor terms, and opportunity buys and free goods.
    • Oversee and manage communication with Stores and Distribution Centers.
    • Partner with Logistics and DC for most efficient flow of product to stores.
    • Visit RK Stores to establish open communication and understanding store challenges.
  • Product
    • Stay abreast of market dynamics and competition.
    • Manage pricing, sales, and profit margin of products to plan.
    • Identify new opportunities to deliver products the customer wants and needs.
    • Conduct category reviews as needed (2-3 per year).
    • Develop seasonal merchandise assortments along with pricing and merchandising plans.
  • Planning/Analysis
    • Place, track, and ensure complete and on-time delivery of all new store orders.
    • Provide Inventory Analyst with problems that need analysis, improvement, or change.
    • Review recommendations from Inventory Analysts and determine direction and appropriate action.
    • Partner with Inventory Analyst to monitor and react to seasonal product performance.
    • Maintain detailed current knowledge of sales, inventory, and profit trends for your area.
    • Generate and leverage reports for effective decision making.
    • Complete assortment planning and product lifecycles.
    • Collaborate to create financial plans (open to buy) that will align with organizational goals.
    • Optimize "in stock" on basic items by collaborating with your designated replenishment specialists/partner.
    • Identify poor performing items and categories and reduce inventory and liabilities.
    • Partner with an Inventory Analyst to determine sales, inventory and turn goals including preseason flow plans and projections.
  • Advertising and Promotion
    • Develop and submits advertising and promotional plans that deliver increases in sales and store traffic per the advertising process, pricing policy and timelines.
    • Ensure accuracy of print advertising and product in stock to 98.5%.
    • Collaborate with the Digital Aisle Team to identify assortment, placement, promotions, and marketing strategies to drive sales and profits. This is a core responsibility and should be a major focus.
  • Store Planning
    • Provide timely direction on new SKU's and new programs to Store Planning to develop and maintain accurate planograms per the Store Planning process and timelines.
    • Ensure planograms are appropriate to volume and space of stores and grouped for volume levels.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead the team to drive sales, manage inventory, and achieve the financial goals of the department.
    • Create and communicate a strategic vision for the department, including visual merchandising strategies.
    • Be a leader who will inspire and mentor your team to reach new heights for themselves and Rural King.
    • Lead and drive impactful projects that directly contribute to the success and growth of Rural King.
    • Play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction and making a tangible difference.
    • Lead associates in a way that exemplifies the leadership principles taught in Rural King's Thrive Leadership Program.

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Work on next generation Wireless Driver Architecture. Test Apple WiFi products against 802.11 ac/ax industry standard and protocol to be able to implement these protocols and bring them to Apple products. Test latest WiFi security including WPA2, WPA3 and enterprise network security. Contribute to Apple Automation Framework which is based on Python scripting. Objective is to automate using Python test plans and test scenarios. Automate Apple Specific Features and software for Quality Assurance testing. Test Wireless functionality, Performance, and interoperability against third party access points. Test and debug AirPlay, AirDrop, Sidecar, Universal Control and Peer to Peer WiFi features and technologies using industry proprietary protocol used to communicate between Apple protocols using Peer to Peer technology. Work with cross functional teams and teams from other organizations to determine software feature requirements and confirm functionality. Perform performance testing including between different Mac products and iPhone. Perform End to End AirDrop and AirPlay testing. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $172,931- $258,600/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

  • Three (3) years of experience must include:

  • SQA methodologies including functional testing, performance testing, interoperability, and stress testing.

  • Developing functional, performance, stress and interoperability test strategies and plans and executing the strategies with automation and manual testing

  • Write Python automation using an internally developed and proprietary automatic framework and automate existing test cases to improve efficiency

  • Using Python, C, and C++ to automate test plans and ensure test cases run in an automated fashion

  • Software development lifecycle (waterfall) including requirement definition, design, review, implementation, and testing

  • Automating WiFi UI test cases including UI automation from WiFi Menu and System Settings

  • Experience with server-side technologies such as RESTful APIs and Database operations

  • Software Design and Architecture for mobile and desktop devices

  • Understanding computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms

  • Objective-C, Swift development
