ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize, one of the largest construction materials producers in the world, is recruiting full-time Diesel Mechanics for our new project in Texas City, TX. This position will maintain and repair heavy construction, automotive, mechanical, and machinery equipment.
New hires must train in Port Arthur for a few weeks before the Texas City project starts, and the project lasts 18 months.
WHAT YOULL ACCOMPLISH
As directed and guided by the Maintenance Supervisor, the essential duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following;
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment failures. Provide repair and maintenance to diesel and gasoline engines. Adjust and repair ignition, fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and steering systems. Maintain and repair chassis, frames, and bodies. Work with hoisting and jacking equipment, power tools, measuring instruments, gauges, and meters. Lubricate equipment. Maintain and repair tires, batteries, brakes, and valves. Perform shop management functions such as maintenance scheduling and spare parts inventory control, making estimates of material, labor, and equipment requirements.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Assist other mechanics as needed.
- Have basic computer proficiency and good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have good organizational skills, meet strict deadlines, and document issues and procedures.
- Can work in a team atmosphere and learn new tasks
