Job Summary: As an Aerospace Applications Engineer at GWS Tool Group, you will play a critical role in delivering our customers competitive engineered solutions through industry leading products and processes which will lower customers total cost and secure sustainable aftermarket sales growth. He/she will apply tools, techniques, and processes from standardized and/or optimized processing methods. The position will involve working across multifunctional teams to support sales growth
Duties/Responsibilities:
Take lead, manage and/or support customer projects
Pre-sales activities include analyzing customer’s technical needs and suggesting solutions
Post-sales activities include resolving implementation problems and conducting training
Analyze customers’ technical needs, develop proposals outlining how the organization’s products and services can meet their needs
Provide customers with documentation such as cycle times, simulations, cutting data, etc.
Respond to more complex technical questions regarding GWS Tool Group’s products
Develop and deliver training to educate internal employees and customers
Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve technical problems that arise during or after implementation.
Develops test applications used for in-house testing, including customer-specific components and representative features
Maintain direct contact with sales, production and customers as necessary to ensure effective levels of communication
Actively support best practice sharing and network efficiency related to our resources to include tooling, application, processing, machining and cutting data.
Explore, identify, and develop new products and application areas
Participates in customer/component mapping and GAP analysis
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as mechanical or manufacturing engineering
Proven experience (5 years) in aerospace manufacturing
Advanced application knowledge and experience in machining within the aerospace industry on key aerospace components
Desired CAD/CAM- AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Catia, Siemens NX and/or Mastercam
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and implement process improvements
Analytical and problem-solving skills of basic manufacturing processes
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Experience in the manufacturing industry or similar environments is a plus.

The Project Engineer on the Aerospace Hardware Team will lead and manage the planning, execution, and oversight of projects focused on the design, integration, and testing of advanced electromechanical systems for flight test experiments. This role involves creating detailed project plans, tracking progress, and reporting status, risks, and achievements to stakeholders. The Project Engineer will coordinate efforts across cross‑functional teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure successful project delivery within schedule and budget constraints. The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of engineering experience and a proven track record of developing solutions and collaborating across engineering teams to deliver high‑performing and reliable systems.
Responsibilities- Lead system engineering efforts through requirements analysis, design, integration, testing, and validation
- Develop and maintain system architecture, interface specifications, and technical documentation
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (hardware, software, test, and operations) to ensure system functionality and performance
- Support risk management, trade studies, and system performance evaluations
- Provide technical input on proposals, project plans, and schedules
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and organizational processes
- Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for system‑level issues
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in engineering, integration, and testing
- Strong understanding of engineering development processes (requirements development, review lifecycle, verification & validation)
- Familiarity with testing standards (INCOSE SE Handbook, MIL‑STD, and ISO standards)
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
- Previous experience with DoD programs and unmanned aircraft systems highly desirable
- Must be customer‑focused, detail‑oriented, and capable of working with multiple teams to resolve technical problems
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance required

Our client is seeking an Aerospace Systems Engineer to join a highly innovative team working on the development and operations of a next-generation heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle. This vehicle is designed to be reusable, human-capable, and capable of transporting people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, and beyond. In this role, you will collaborate across multiple subsystems, apply systems engineering practices, and contribute to mission-critical solutions that support the vision of advancing human presence in space.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Support systems engineering processes and ensure consistent implementation across program areas.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated technical system solutions.
- Contribute to requirements definition, validation, and verification at all program levels using tools such as DOORS Next Gen and system lifecycle management tools.
- Perform requirements analysis, traceability, functional and systems analysis, safety analysis, and technical performance monitoring.
- Support verification planning, closure, and test plan development.
- Participate in gated reviews and help establish program health metrics.
- Ensure alignment of systems engineering practices across program tiers, from system-level design to lower-level components.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline (advanced degree is preferred).
- 2+ years of proven engineering experience.
- Solid understanding of systems engineering principles and processes.
- Experience in at least one area: analysis, design, or integrated testing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-directed and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Passion for advancing human spaceflight and exploration.
- Knowledge of launch vehicle design, requirements, and development is preferred.
- Experience qualifying electro-mechanical hardware is a plus.
- Background in system development and integration, preferably with aerospace hardware.
- Familiarity with verification planning, evidence coordination, and closure documentation is helpful.
- Proficiency with systems engineering tools such as DOORS Next Gen is strongly preferred.
- Experience with project planning and implementation is a plus.
- Strong understanding of tailoring systems engineering practices for rapid development programs is advantageous.
- Pay range for CO $88,200 - $23,500 depending on experience; FL & WA 96,300 - 134,800 depending on experience.

Job Description
Swift is looking for an aerospace systems engineer to work primarily on Swift’s HALE project. You’ll be tasked with learning and owning the airframe design, be familiar with the analysis of it, and the specific manufacturing process for all of the ultra-light parts. We need the candidate to be competent with RC/aircraft powertrain and solar power systems. Additionally, you will be responsible for leading the design of the next generation HALE as technological advances allow Swift to upgrade components and the aircraft.
Salary: $115,000 to $130,000
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the airframe design of current and future iterations of Swift’s High-Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) aircraft.
- Oversee quality control and manufacturing processes for R&D composite airframes.
- Conduct parametric studies to analyze and optimize in-flight performance metrics, including:
- Power consumption and solar power collection
- Reynolds number effects at altitude
- Solar incidence and aerodynamic efficiency
- Climb and descent capabilities
- Participate in flight testing and validation, with travel required up to 20% annually
Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based, with occasional work in a shop or hangar environment.
- Evening or weekend work may be required during project deadlines or flight testing.
- Up to 20% domestic travel for flight operations and on-site integration support.
Primarily office environment limited time in a shop environment. Periodic weekend or evening work is expected. Out-of-town travel is required for approximately 20% of the year.

- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred), or equivalent industry experience (8+ years) in aerodynamics, structures, and systems analysis.
- Hands-on experience with advanced composite materials.
- Strong understanding of aerospace materials, manufacturing methods, tooling techniques, and structural behavior of composites.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MATLAB/Simulink.
Skills Required:
- Practical experience with composite manufacturing techniques and materials.
- Proficient in battery-powered aircraft powertrain systems.
- Familiarity with solar-powered systems or solar-integrated robotics.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software.

Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Aerospace Systems Engineer to support component and sub-system investigations providing documentation of field events and component returns. The engineer must combine technical forensics, rigorous root cause analysis, and clear customer communication to capture event timelines, preserve evidence, and deliver definitive findings. Domains of focus include aircraft hydro-mechanical systems, electronic control systems, and embedded software platforms . The ideal candidate has in-depth familiarity of certification-driven development environments , as well as strong skills in requirements management and systems integration. Must be able to self-manage while working in customer settings. Able to technically lead small team is desired.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform technical forensics
- Review and analyze control software data and requirements, installation and maintenance history, and hardware specifications to reconstruct event timelines and identify root causes.
- System Requirements & Architecture
- Define, manage, trace, and verify system-level and software-level requirements (ARP4754A, ARP4761).
- Development & Integration
- Contribute to cradle-to-grave development of electronic control systems, including propeller and flight management systems.
- Coordinate between cross-functional teams in software integration and V&V (DO-178B/C) for flight-critical applications.
- Verification & Validation
- Develop and execute validation and verification plans for DO-178-certified systems.
- Conduct software root cause analysis, risk mitigation, and issue resolution.
- Documentation and reporting
- Produce concise, technically rigorous incident reports, executive summaries, timelines, and recommended corrective actions for customers, certification bodies, and internal stakeholders.
- Present findings clearly to engineering teams and program management, coordinate technical briefings and post-incident reviews.
- Customer and stakeholder communication
- Represent the company while working directly with customer assigned technical focal points.
- Must be able to prioritize tasks, set and meet delivery dates, and directly resolve priority/schedule conflicts with project management.
- Project & Technical Leadership
- At times, may be part of teams of two or three individuals. Ability to operate as the technical expert mentoring and training others.

- Proven leadership of certified avionics or embedded systems projects.
- Expertise in:
- DOORS, Python MS Excel, C/C++, and embedded development environments.
- Requirements management, Change management
- Traceability, systems integration, V&V,
- Certification processes (DO-178C, ARP4761 or equivalent).
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- U.S. citizenship is required. Dual citizenship should be disclosed.
- Preference if located in the Hartford area. Otherwise, must be able to travel approximately eight weeks in the year.
