As a Tax Manager for RSM you will be responsible for the following job duties which are focused around three core concepts (Technical & Quality Expertise, People & Talent Management, and Client Service/Business Development):

  • Serve as a mentor or coach to one or more employees, which will include providing honest and timely performance feedback - approximately 10- 20% of your time
  • Train and develop staff members - approximately 10-20% of your time
  • Provide detailed review and analysis of complex tax returns - approximately up to 35% of your time
  • Work on multiple complex issues while communicating in a non-technical manner to facilitate communication between the client and the service team while managing the risk for both the client and the firm
  • Serve as the Tax client service coordinator for appropriate clients
  • Advise clients on a full spectrum of corporate tax services, including planning, research, compliance, and general mergers and acquisitions activities
  • Reviewing research findings and ensure conclusions are consistent with firm policies and professional standards
  • Assist with new business development, extended service and tax issue recognition for existing clients
  • Manage corporate client needs with respect to tax services and federal and state tax compliance
  • Remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree - preferably in Accounting or related field of study
  • CPA, JD, LLM, or EA
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Public Accounting
  • Experience with C-Corps
  • Ability to work closely with clients to answer questions or to collect necessary information for tax service requirements
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience preparing or reviewing accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC 740
  • Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance
  • Strong technical skills in accounting and tax preparation, industry specialization a plus
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience in dealing with international tax matters a plus

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:

This is a job classification in the Finance job family. Incumbents in this classification perform a high level of independent policy, financial and economic analysis and communicate effectively in highly public, external facing forums. Incumbents in this classification report directly to the Director of Economic Development & Strategic Investments. Incumbents have frequent and autonomous interaction at the Board level.

  • Directs the issuance and management of private activity bonds programs. Interacts with the public, mortgage lenders, attorneys, developers, County officials, and others involved in the affordable housing industry regarding the Travis County Housing Finance Corporation's programs. Provides management and technical oversight of the Corporations attorney and financial advisor in making recommendations on the issuance of housing, healthcare and other related private activity bonds. Prepares reports for the Board of Directors.
  • Directs the administration of Corporations programs, including many complex operational processes, planning issues, policies, procedures, plans, designs, and related budget issues.
  • Negotiates complex agreements including Memoranda of Understanding, fee structure, and affordability levels and reviews all legal documents on transactions where TCHFC will act as General Partner and General Contractor with consideration of tax and legal implications.
  • Prepares annual budgets for five Corporations and monitors activity for each Corporation.
  • Develops long range strategic plans for all of the Corporations and long range economic development plans and goals for the County.
  • Directs the review and makes recommendations on applications for Corporation issuance of private activity bonds.
  • Provides direction to developer and non-profit applicants for private activity bonds issued by the Corporations.

The Director of Corporations and Foundation Relations is charged with and executing a strategy to secure external funding from corporate sources and philanthropic foundations in support of the strategic priorities of West End House. Responsibilities
  • Fundraising Responsibilities: Develop and manage a portfolio of corporate, foundation, and other institutional donors contributing to an org-wide annual revenue goal of more than $5 million. Portfolio management includes: proactive, regular contact with donor organizations, preparation of solicitation proposals and gift agreements, engagement and stewardship of donors. Develop fundraising proposals and reports; responsible for timely research and writing for the submission of grant proposals and subsequent required reporting. Proactively grow the Foundations & Corporations portfolio through prospect research, networking, etc. Manage corporate sponsorship solicitations for West End House’s annual event. Work closely with the Manager, Engagement & Impact to develop meaningful volunteer opportunities for corporate partners.

Impact, Database Management

  • Partner closely with the finance and programs to ensure requests for restricted funding align with program priorities, and to ensure that all grant reporting requirements are met. Maintain an accurate and up-to-date donor database (Raiser’s Edge), participate in budget and revenue projection activities.
Qualifications

A career within RSM’s Corporate Tax services will provide you with the opportunity to help our public and private multinational corporate tax clients meet their accounting for income tax reporting requirements and income tax consulting and compliance obligations, while managing the impact tax has on their business. You’ll advise clients on their tax strategy using both your industry experience and technical expertise with a cross functional team, while delivering a customized technology-enabled service delivery model to facilitate better decision making in achieving our clients’ strategic objectives.

As a Tax Senior Manager for RSM you will be responsible for the following job duties which are focused around three core concepts (Technical & Quality Expertise, People & Talent Management, and Client Service/Business Development):

  • Serve as a Career Advisor, mentor or coach to one or more employees, which will include providing honest and timely performance feedback – approximately 10-20% of your time
  • Drive growth and profitability of industry/specialty area by generating new revenue on existing client portfolio, cross selling and new clients for the tax practice – approximately 30-40% of your time
  • Interact directly with clients handling questions, planning, consulting, etc. – approximately 20-40% of your time
  • Train and develop staff members
  • Work on multiple complex issues while communicating in a non-technical manner to facilitate communication between the client and the service team while managing the risk for both the client and the firm
  • Lead and manage the business relationship of complex engagements with a focus on high-value quality tax advice and seek to expand services to clients
  • Serving as Tax client service coordinator while developing and executing the firm’s client service plan
  • Reviewing research findings and ensure conclusions are consistent with firm policies and professional standards
  • Build relationships across lines of business to ensure excellent client service through an integrated service approach
  • Manage corporate client needs with respect to tax services and federal and state tax compliance
  • Remain up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA, JD, LLM, or EA
  • Experience with C-Corps
  • 8 or more years of public accounting experience or equivalent in law firms or industry.
  • Must be able to support financial growth efforts and manage a book of business.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience preparing or reviewing accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC 740
  • A proven record of simultaneously managing multiple projects and engagement teams for various clients
  • Project management and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to generate new business and extend service opportunities
  • Experience in dealing with international tax matters a plus Fluent in French(Francais), German(Deutsch), Japanese( 日本語 ) or Mandarin( 普通 话 ) to include but not limited to speaking, writing and reading with a deep understanding of the culture and business practices within country of fluency

As a Commercial Banker on the Multinational Corporations (MNC), Middle Market Banking team, you will focus on business development and play a pivotal role in expanding our presence within foreign-owned, e arly-s tage companies. The MNC Early-Stage team is part of J.P. Morgan's Commercial Bank in its Middle Market Banking and Specialized Industries group. In this role, you will be a creative and strategic thinker to build community and brand awareness in the localmarket including driving the prospecting strategy, client acquisition, channel partner management, and strong collaboration with the local Bankers in your market. We work both independently and as part of a dynamic team to deliver the entire firm to our clients.

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive top line revenues while maximizing efficiency for the business, with a keen eye towards risk mitigation and compliance
  • Serve as mentor and coach to the banking team and lead the region’s prospecting activities. This may include cross-selling of existing clients when appropriate.
  • Lead the new business origination strategy for the local market in close coordination with local business banking teams
