**Job Title: Accounting Clerk**
**Location: Virginia Beach, VA**
**Pay Range: $45K-$55K**
**Shift: M-F 8am-5pm**

+ Financial Data Entry: Accurately enter financial transactions, invoices, and receipts into company accounting software.
+ Record Keeping: Maintain organized financial records, ledgers, and company databases.
+ Accounts Payable : Process invoices, manage vendor accounts, and prepare checks and payments.
+ T&E Expense: the process of managing, tracking, and reporting the expenses that employees incur while traveling for business or entertaining clients
+ Reconciliation: Reconcile bank and Investment statements and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.

Job Description

The **Director, Income Tax** is responsible for managing the company's income, franchise and property tax functions, including compliance, planning, tax provision, and special projects. This leadership role will oversee tax filings, tax payments, financial accounting for income taxes, owner tax distributions and provide strategic guidance on tax-related matters to drive value across the organization.
**Responsibilities**
**Tax Planning & Strategy**
+ Support the development and execution of income tax planning strategies.
+ Assist with transfer pricing documentation and supply chain tax planning initiatives.
+ Identify tax risks and opportunities; propose and implement strategies to improve the company's tax position.
+ Communicate the company's tax strategy and posture to senior leadership.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional departments to identify ways the tax function can add value to operations.
+ Network with industry professionals to stay current on best practices and regulatory changes.
**Tax Provision & Reporting**
+ Lead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740 (FAS 109).
+ Recommend and implement process improvements to ensure timely and accurate tax accounting.
+ Oversee the preparation of tax-related disclosures and footnotes.
+ Maintain and enhance internal controls in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
**Compliance & Audit**
+ Manage all aspects of federal, state, and local income and franchise tax compliance, including return preparation and estimated payments.
+ Ensure tax implications of major corporate initiatives are appropriately addressed and communicated.
+ Lead corporate income and franchise tax audits, including IRS examinations.
**Leadership & Staff Development**
+ Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing tax team.
+ Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development to tax staff.
+ Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
+ CPA required
+ 8+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, a large corporate tax department, or a combination of both
**Preferred Skills and Experience**
+ Deep knowledge of federal and state income tax laws
+ Strong understanding of ASC 740 / FAS 109 tax accounting
+ Experience managing income tax compliance and provision processes
+ Proven success managing IRS and state audits
+ Excellent project management, leadership, and interpersonal skills
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and tax research tools
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
+ Proactive, team-oriented, and highly organized
