We're looking to hire great camera operators who love making stuff for YouTube and have a passion for cars and comedy. You should be independent, multifaceted, and resourceful, and have shot cars before.
Freelance, based in-person at our Inglewood, California headquarters - with the opportunity to grow to full time or move on to directing. We are constantly making videos and offer a steady stream of work!
$300-600 day rate, based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Directors to help develop their vision.
- Collaborate with Producers & Directors to understand their equipment needs for each individual project.
- Ability to communicate visual needs to directors, talent, and production.
- Proficiency in operating professional video cameras and related equipment to capture visually engaging footage, specifically the Canon C suite.
- Prep camera and production equipment prior to shoots.
- Ensure proper lighting and framing to achieve the desired visual aesthetic.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide support to the production team on set.
- Take charge in situations where the camera operator is the only person present.
- Travel to different locations depending on assignment.
- Keep an eye on opportunities for improvement on a go-forward basis, conducting and sharing a self assessment after the video has gone live and ideating ways to make the next video better than the last.
- Be your own A/C. On larger shoots we'll have a dedicated A/C but we all wear multiple hats. Flexibility is huge!
- A deep love of YouTube.
- Experience shooting cars.
- Ability to work in a demanding, high pressure and time sensitive environment.
- Good comedic sense + awareness.
- Professional experience is not necessary - BUT we want to see what you've done!

- Operating video cameras and related equipment during Live Racing.

- Operate professional camcorders as you record scenes for live events, advertising or streaming broadcasts.

- Adjust camera controls, and any related equipment to find the right lighting, exposure and focus.
- Work with other professionals, including audio engineers, lighting technicians and directors to determine desired effects, lighting requirements, camera movements and any filming sequences.
- Arrange sets to best suit the settings on the camera, and control the lighting equipment, audio to get the result the director desires from the production.
- Maintain, clean and test all equipment and cameras to ensure every tool is in good working order each day before production starts.
- Watch production sets closely to determine if problems are present concerning camera angles and lighting and notify the director about issues before filming starts.
- Remain updated on new technology and current industry trends to ensure you bring the latest methods to the job.

General Summary:
Under direction of the A/V Production Manager this position is responsible for the operation of Video Production equipment such as, and not limited to ENG Built cameras, handheld cameras, Character Generator, Replay, LED Display Controller, camera shading and other duties as deemed necessary.

- Maintains a neat and clean appearance as position interacts with outside clients and patrons.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Ability to work during the day, nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays are required.
- Knowledge of applicable audio/visual equipment at a level normally acquired through completion of high school. 2 years' experience in a broadcast video production environment is not required, but strongly recommended.
- Analytical skills necessary to perform troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose equipment problems.
- Must also be able to resolve such problems in a timely fashion.
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills when dealing with fellow employee and patrons.
- Ability to read, understand, and implement information contained in general audio/visual related periodicals, user manuals, and other written forms of instruction.
