Management and Executive Risk Claims Manager
**PRIMARY PURPOSE** **:** To manage the technical and operational functions within assigned Professional Liability offices with up to 74 full-time colleagues including compliance with company standards and industry best practices; to ensure consistent delivery of quality services including direct operational responsibility of an office in the location where the manager resides; to manage the staffing and training needs; and to manage budget preparation and profit and loss management for assigned offices.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Oversees overall Professional Liability operations management for assigned locations.
+ Establishes policy and procedures to assure compliance to best practices, claims management services standards, state regulations, and client service requirements.
+ Establishes business plan with goals and objectives for the partnership and locations/offices.
+ Monitors management reports relating to the partnership/office performance.
+ Assists with the coordination of sales and client service efforts.

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $125,500 to $30,200. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is 150,700 to 261,600. EY's FSO tax practice provides comprehensive and specialized tax assistance tailored to the unique needs of the asset management industry. You would join our tax professionals who are knowledgeable and experienced with varied and specialized facets of hedge fund, private equity fund and mutual fund taxation, including fund and organizational structuring, tax minimization planning, on-call advice, and tax compliance.
**Your key responsibilities**
As a manager in our Wealth & Asset Management practice, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating tax compliance and advisory work for clients. You would work on key client issues in domestic federal, international and state and local taxation with a focus on implementing tax strategies that align with the client's business objectives. You will manage tax compliance accounts for hedge funds and or private equity funds. You will review extensive securities analysis, make appropriate tax adjustments, and provide sign-off for the production and delivery of K-1's and partnership tax returns. You will be responsible for reviewing partnership agreements and private placement memorandums for tax implications of items such as book and tax allocations, stuffing provisions, management and incentive fees as well as run the day to day activities on the accounts that are spread across various locations.
**Skills and attributes for success**
+ Solid technical knowledge - you will have to review partnership book/tax allocations including aspect such as incentive fee re-allocation, side pocket, transfer partnership interest, fill up/down
+ The ability to teach or assist in firm in - house trainings
+ Ability to analyze trading reports for tax character and book tax differences, such as wash sales, constructive sales, straddles, and other securities issues.

**To qualify for the role you must have**

+ CPA license or a licensed Attorney is required or the ability to achieve either within a one year from hire date
+ A minimum of 5 years of relevant tax experience or equivalent experience in the financial services industry
+ Familiarity with the financial services industry gained through direct involvement with managed investment vehicles

+ Manage internal and external client relationships and professional network to support client retention and new business development
+ Manage communications with client tax liaisons, client trust administration teams and client trust officers to gather required information, to share information to support informed decision-making, and obtain instruction or authorization necessary for timely, accurate production of tax information statements, tax returns and related reporting
+ Build effective long-term relationships and manage workflow effectively with our clients, and understand their unique needs to provide tailored services
+ Manage engagement deliverables and team resources to achieve timely and accurate delivery of tax compliance services while effectively managing engagement economics
**To qualify for the role you must have:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Tax, Law, or Economics
+ CPA, EA, or licensed attorney
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in a professional services or tax services organization
+ Strong attention to detail
+ Good written & verbal communication skills
+ Proven conceptual and analytical ability
+ Proficient using Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, and Power Point
+ Experience with financial and tax applications such as Gosystems, Onesource TP, Corp Tax, as required by area of specialism
+ Proficient in the use of various tax and accounting technologies
+ Possess and apply a comprehensive knowledge of accounting and finance principles, practices, and procedures to complete moderately complex assignments

+ The ability to adapt your work style to work with both internal and client team members

+ We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $90,300 to $65,400. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is 108,500 to 188,100. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
