Job Description:

Primary responsibilities of the Database Administrator include supporting database operations including but not limited to performance monitoring, query optimization, code deployments, access management, and database analysis. The candidate will be responsible for operating in Oracle, Exadata, and SQL Server platforms and supporting database re-platforming efforts to include proper database sizing estimates. They will be responsible for creating database objects, investigating performance issues, table partitioning strategies and setup and monitoring data retention. They will work closely with data architects, data analysts, and database owners to support work requests related to performance monitoring, query optimization, code deployments, access management, and database analysis. The candidate must have strong technical and communication skills coupled with the ability to convey their findings and recommendations to large groups.

Responsibilities

• Working knowledge of how to investigate and optimize SQL queries in SQL Server and Oracle/Exadata environments.
• Monitoring of database performance to include, but not limited to, memory usage, proper backups, active sessions, long-running queries, tablespace configuration, and space allocations.
• Coordinate with data architects and analysts on creating schemas, tables (including partitioning), functions, views, stored procedures, database access and roles.
• Coordination with the automation team for the scheduling of database.
• Write scripts to enable DBA specific processing and monitoring.
• Complete routine database administration efforts as defined by the team DBA Lead.
• Attend Oncor DBA team meetings and follow Oncor standard DBA practices as defined by the Oncor DBA Function Lead.
• Runbook documentation to support DBA processes setup.
• Knowledge on Hybrid Columnar Compression (HCC) and Advanced Compression is a plus.
• Implementing and managing centralized database operations at the Container Database (CDB) level.
• Familiarity with managing resource allocation for PDBs, ensuring fair access to system resources like CPU, memory, and I/O in a shared Database environment.
• Implementing and enforcing security policies at both the CDB and PDB level, including managing users, privileges, and roles within the Multitenant environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of physical DBA experience, including experience across Oracle, SQL Server, Exadata, Postgres, Microsoft Access database servers.
• Working knowledge of all aspects of Database Data Movement and Processing.
• Familiarity with JIRA workflow processes and Agile methodology.
• Working experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, DBeaver, TOAD, or Oracle SQL Developer.
• Good Communication skills.
• Self-Motivated.
• Ability to multi-task and re-prioritize tasks as required by demand.
• Capable of presenting to all levels of audiences.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Experience with Hadoop/MongoDB a plus.
• Experience with MDM methodology and tools a plus.
• Cloud experience a plus.

Under the direction of the Senior Construction Superintendent, performs a wide range of carpentry tasks. Tasks include wood/metal wall framing, installation of sheetrock, finishing of sheetrock, installation of commercial doors and hardware, sanding and painting of sheetrock walls, installation, painting and/or staining of millwork, installation of ceiling grid and tiles, and other general carpentry repair tasks.

Pay Rate: $34.41/hourly

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

• Performs maintenance, repairs, and new construction work on items such as foundations, concrete form work, interior walls, exterior walls, all types of exterior siding, all floor covering, sub-floors, catwalks, commercial doors/frames, windows, partitions, sheetrock hanging-finishing, painting, millwork installation, ceiling grid/tile installations and all other building components as necessary.
• Plans and lays out work from blueprints, drawings, models and verbal and written instructions.
• Uses a variety of hand tools, portable power tools, and standard measuring instruments.
• Plans, organizes work and meets all deadlines. Able to do a variety of tasks in any single day.
• Coordinates with other trade and warehouse personnel in the identification of proper and correct materials, parts assemblies and requirements for a variety of requisitions necessary for the job/task.
• Respond to emergency site maintenance as required.
• Inspects and diagnoses problems to determine corrective repairs.
• Perform on call and preventive maintenance duties as necessary.
• Performs periodic stock inventories and prepares material requisitions for replacement items.
• Uses a variety of hand tools, portable power tools, and standard measuring instruments.
• Operates Government or company-owned motor vehicles and/or other equipment.
• Performs various lower classified duties such as (but not limited to) file maintenance, workspace cleanup, maintain warehouse space and telephone answering as required.
• Assists and supports other trade groups and/or department staff in daily operations.
• Adheres to the company safety and personnel policies and standard operating procedures.
• Ability to complete tasks utilizing a written schedule.
• Understands air quality standards and how to apply them.
• Ability to work alternate shifts as required.
• Ability to travel out of state to a maximum of 25%.

Mandatory:

• High school graduate or equivalent GED.
• A minimum of Five (5) years of experience in commercial carpentry trade performing tasks associated with job summary and duties.

• Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Salary Range: $80,000-$140,000 a year #LI-AS3

• Manage and maintain MongoDB sharded clusters , ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
• Perform MongoDB installations, upgrades, and patches across multiple shards and replica sets.
• Handle backup and recovery operations (including point-in-time restores) without Ops Manager.
• Monitor and optimize query performance , analyze slow queries, and provide tuning recommendations.
• Scale clusters (adding/removing shards, rebalancing data) as per workload demands.
• Use monitoring tools (e.g., MongoDB Atlas, Prometheus, Grafana, or native tools) to track cluster health and resource utilization.
• Troubleshoot replication lag, connectivity, and other database issues.
• Implement automation using basic shell scripting (Bash/Python) for routine DBA tasks.

• Document configurations, procedures, and best practices.

• 5-6+ years of MongoDB DBA experience , with expertise in sharded environments .
• Hands-on experience in manual cluster management (backups, restores, scaling, replication).
• Proficiency in performance tuning (indexing, query optimization, explain plans).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., MongoDB Diagnostics, PMM, Nagios).
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and basic shell scripting .
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a 24/7 on-call rotation (if required).

• Experience with MongoDB Atlas or other cloud-based deployments.
• Knowledge of other NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, Redis).
• Understanding of DevOps practices (CI/CD, IaC tools like Ansible/Terraform).

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent experience.
