Devereux PA Children's Services (DPACS) is seeking a full time **Hospital Director** for the Devereux Pennsylvania Children's Behavioral Health Center (DCBHC) located in Malvern, PA. Devereux Pennsylvania Children's Behavioral Health Center is the only freestanding children's psychiatric hospital in Chester County, Pa. We are a Joint Commission accredited psychiatric inpatient hospital providing services to children and adolescents, ages five to 18, and their families, in acute mental health crisis. Our treatment teams, which include psychiatrists, clinical case managers, nurses, teachers, licensed psychologists and clinical social workers, along with the family and child, work together to create a safe, stabilization and treatment plan that focuses on successful discharge of the child back to his or her community, or a lesser level of care. The majority of children stay at DCBHC between three days and 21 days. Diagnoses may include: suicidal gestures and attempts, cutting and self-injurious behaviors, depression, aggression, psychosis, autism spectrum disorders, and/or drug and alcohol issues.
This position will be responsible administer and coordinate, hospital operations to provide safe and effective programs and services for patients and their families. Management of the fiscal budget to include bed utilization, FTE planning/utilization and monitors other operational expenses and sources of revenue. Oversight of activities that enhance referral development. Facilitates cooperation with other departments/functions of the treatment team and/or administrative support services. Provides supervision and guidance to all employees by communicating and ensuring compliance with organizational/center standards and licensing requirements. Creates a work environment that encourages learning, skill acquisition, quality performance, and employee development.

Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (DCBHC), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives.

**EDUCATION:** Master's degree required.
**EXPERIENCE:** At least 10 years of previous supervisory experience in a behavioral healthcare setting. Proficient computer skills, mastery of Microsoft Office Applications, experience with data collection/analyzing platforms (Radar, Pro-Filer, and/or other internal and external software applications pertinent to the position). Strong organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Requires ability to work independently, prioritize, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adhere to established guidelines.

Responsibilities

The Hospital Operator is responsible for processing all incoming calls from Mayo Clinic patients, visitors, clinic staff, administrative staff, support staff, and the general public. Assisting callers in a polite, articulate, professional, and clear manner. The Operator utilizes systems to answer the phone, triage calls, and page staff. The Operator utilizes an electronic directory database, websites, applications, and other reference material for effective distribution of information and calls. The ability to search phonetically in a database is required. The Hospital Operator assists personnel with pagers as applicable. Responsibilities and tasks can be repetitive and persistent. The Operator must be able to accurately process a high volume of telephone calls over an extended period of time. The Telecommunications Center provides services 24/7, for this reason day, evening, and overnight training is required.

Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.). Computer and keyboarding experience is required. Applicant must have multi-phone line experience. Applicant must possess a high level of concentration, memory retention, and attention to detail. Applicant is required to have a minimum of 2 years customer service experience. Applicant must display competency of the following skills: spoken communication, interaction and versatility, decision making and problem solving, coping, commitment to task, tolerance of ambiguity, decisiveness, alertness and perceptivity. Accuracy is necessary as well as the ability to think and respond quickly in stressful or emergency situations. Strong communications skills, the ability to work both with a team and independently are required. Physical requirements include the ability to do the following: view a computer monitor and read newsprint font style and size, hear in both ears, sit at a computer desk, work in varying light levels and perform repetitive upper body motions for an eight hour shift. Telecommunication Specialists are required to clearly speak, write, and understand the English language as well as be understood while speaking the English language.
